We had a lovely week at Shepherds Rest. Lovely spacious property, with an enclosed front garden which was great for catching the evening sun when we came back from a day out. Very large master bedroom with a nice comfortable bed. Jenny and Malcolm were friendly and helpful, but not intrusive and left us to enjoy our holiday.

The property was very well cleaned and the space was adequate for the five of us. Generally the decor was a bit tired and dated. The "well stocked" fishing lake proved to be far from it's description and proved to be a big disappointment to us.

A really lovely cottage with all the home comforts youd need/want, it was like home from home. Jenny & Malcolm were extremely welcoming & helpful throughout our stay with a wealth of knowledge of local places to visit which wed have missed out on. Great place to stay and explore the surrounding area; Jenny and Malcolm are very welcoming. The accomodation is furnished with everything that you need for your stay. The dog friendly property is great for your furry friend with the added bonus of being able to walk the fields opposite. Thoroughly recommend Shepherds Rest

The owners were a delightful couple, very welcoming and warm. However, our first two nights were marred by an unpleasant smell of drains, which cleared by the third night, and the cottage felt a little damp when we first arrived - it was autumn so this might not be a problem at other times. Some equipment needs updating. Our biggest disappointment Read morewas the games room - the pool table was ripped and the cues had no tips. Owners were really nice and friendly, and are close by if needed, the cottage was nice and big, set in the countryside, but not too far to travel to different places. Loads of lovely walks for the dogs. The people of holsworthy town were also friendly. We was after a chilling holiday and that's exactly what we got. We all really enjoyed it. The location and owners were lovely and very welcoming. The property was clean and tidy. Though the interior does need an update, as it is beginning to feel a little tired. Also, maybe supplying a simple welcome pack of tea, coffee, fresh bread and milk would make a huge difference due to the location. Shops are not walking distance and means a ridRead moree into town.
