A delightful and quaint barn conversion located in the pretty fishing village of Appledore in North Devon, you will be within easy reach of local beaches, coastal walks, and the harbour town of Bideford.

This property makes a wonderful base from which to enjoy a relaxing break in North Devon. For those who are looking for a quiet, restful break, then the village offers everything you will need right on the doorstep with a range of eateries, independent shops, and a working fishing quay, which makes a great place for a stroll whilst watching the boats come and go. In the summer months, a ferry runs across the estuary to the neighbouring village of Instow where there are yet more places to eat, a number of craft workshops, a yacht club, and a beach. Why not make the trip on a sunny evening and enjoy a pint in one of Instow’s pubs?

This barn conversion property is accessed via the front door, turning left you enter into the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This welcoming room has wooden floors throughout, exposed beams, and an eye-catching stone fireplace which houses the warming wood burner. At one end of the room, there is comfortable seating from which guests can enjoy the TV/DVD and hi-fi. At the other end of the room, a dining table separates the lounge area from the kitchen, which is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, and washing machine. The bedroom is, again, a delightfully spacious room with a king-size bed, exposed beams, and its own TV. The property’s bathroom offers a bath, separate shower, and WC.

Outside, there is a private raised decked patio to the rear of the property, which has garden furniture and offers views across the village to the river beyond. There is one private gated parking space provided, whilst there is additional parking available either at the roadside or in nearby public car parks.

Lovely and clean! No dust!!! Very comfortable!! Beautiful view and lovely and quiet! Great wood burner! We were glad of the wet weather so we could sit with the wood burner.

The property was good overall, but the very difficult access via a very uneven stairway, was not a good start to the holiday. We arrived in the rain and this did not help, as to gain access to the property from the car park space involved a trek of probably 30 - 40 metres, navigating the uneven cobbled stones staircase, a narrow passageway and evenRead moretually arriving at the front door. We dreaded the thought of our last day and returning our luggage back to the car, as rain was forecast. It did rain Hide

Brilliant to have designated parking. The steps up to the front door quite a challenge with luggage. It was a very relaxing holiday home well appointed and very comfortable to live in we should have booked for longer.

The cottage was perfect for our short break. It is well equipped and the rooms are spacious. We could even see the river from the balcony - lovely sunsets. The parking spot is a great asset and in fact we used buses to get around - leaving the car safe in a gated space. A trip to Lundy Island - with dolphins and puffins was the perfect end.

Cottage very well appointed and very comfortable. Location not ideal for those with walking difficulties because of steep steps to access but I guess you could say thats a consequence of the area in which its located. Would definitely stay again. Parking very good too.

Good base to explore North Devon with the added bonus of parking - a rarity in Appledore! Short walk into quay, shops and eateries/pubs. Large bedroom and airy kitchen/diner/lounge. Good views across the water towards Instow. Spotlessly clean on arrival and welcome pack of milk and biscuits well received!

Cottage was lovely! Very clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. Pretty central so other places of interest could be visited. Stone steps from the street to the cottage are tricky if youre not very mobile. Perfect location near centre of Appledore with safe parking space not far from property within locked gated area. Due to elevated location there are some cobbled steps to negotiate which may prove problematic to the less a led. Cottage really comfortable with everything provided and good quality
