This delightful cottage retains much of its original charm and character. Nestling on the edge of the traditional village of Broadhempston, ideally placed for touring the whole of the South Hams. This pretty semi-detached cottage nestles within the village of Broadhempston, it was converted from a former cider press some years ago and offers a real country retreat. Set within the grounds of the owner’s home, the cottage is one of three properties onsite. Broadhempston is a quiet village with a friendly community vibe, it boasts two pubs, a community shop and children’s play park which are within walking distance of the property. A number of beaches are within a 30 minute drive as is Dartmoor with its rugged walking scenery. Other nearby attractions include Totnes Castle, Berry Pomeroy Castle Ruins, Ugbrooke House & Gardens, Dartmouth Steam Railway, Dart Rock Climbing Centre, Pennywell Farm and River Dart Country Park.

On entering the cottage, you will be greeted with the lounge/kitchen/diner; an open-plan room offering comfortable living accommodation with exposed beams, stonework and wooden flooring. In the lounge area you can cosy up in front of the woodburner after a long day exploring, there is also a TV, DVD player and Hi-fi with docking station. The kitchen area has an electric oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. There are two bedrooms accessed via cottage style stairs, offering 1 double and 1 twin. Also on the first floor is the bathroom with shower over bath and WC. The owners of this property have chickens onsite and children are welcome to help collect fresh eggs, this is dependant on whether the chickens are laying and is by arrangement with the owners during your holiday.

Outside guests have use of the large garden with far-reaching countryside views, private patio area with seating and BBQ. Off-road parking is available for 3 cars within the shared parking area.  For extended families, another property, on site, Stoop Stables, is also available to let.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Cosy, comfy, very well equipped cottage in a really convenient location for visiting Totnes, Brixham, Dartmoor etc. The village pub The Monks Retreat is just a few minutes walk away serving excellent meals at reasonable prices. Julie the owner of the cottage is a really friendly lady always happy to help and although living next door is not at all Read moreintrusive. We would definitely return. Hide

Lovely comfortable cottage, beautiful setting and tastefully decorated. Very welcoming owners made us feel so much at home. Gardens lead out to lively fields and they have chickens, ducks and a couple of lovely cats and dogs!

A wonderful holiday cottage, very welcoming. Very clean with comfortable furniture, cosy wood burner, power shower, soft towels and of course lovely home made scones, jam and clotted cream on arrival, perfect hosts, Mr and Mrs Pooley were on hand if help was needed.
