This apartment is situated in a fantastic location in south Devon, right on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and just a short distance from Stover Country Park, a 114-acre nature reserve where visitors can not only enjoy spotting the abundance of wildlife, but also follow the 90-metre aerial walkway and explore the Ted Hughes poetry trail which features some of the late poet laureate’s best-loved nature poems, with illustrations by Raymond Briggs. Twelves miles to the south of the property is the seaside town of Dawlish, which has an interesting array of shops and eateries, and is just one-and-a-half miles from the fantastic sandy beach at Dawlish Warren.

This ground-floor apartment offers contemporary accommodation for two in stylish surroundings. On arriving at the property, guests will find the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its flagstone floor, inviting sofa, TV, and DVD. At the far end of the room, a breakfast bar separates the lounge area from the kitchen which is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge with ice compartment. A separate utility area houses the dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. The property’s bedroom is a spacious double room with a lovely restful atmosphere, and benefits from an additional TV allowing guests to enjoy a relaxing lie-in, or a late-night movie. The bathroom is accessed via stairs leading up from the bedroom, and offers a shower over bath and WC.

Outside, the apartment has its own private patio area with a BBQ and garden furniture, which is tucked away behind a stone wall offering a private space from which to enjoy the tranquil surroundings. In addition to this, guests have access to the generously-sized gardens, and of course, to the fantastic indoor pool and the Scandinavian-style sauna. There is ample off-road parking available.

The owners were very helpful during our stay. The "cottage" is more isolated than we had expected; we should've done our research more carefully. If you're looking to be able to walk out in the evenings, this is not the accommodation for you. Having said that, lovely setting and apartment.
