Property code: TILLI

Detached barn conversion property situated on the owner’s working beef farm, close to the Cornish border in rural Devon, with a choice of fantastic beaches within easy driving distance.

This property enjoys the best of both worlds: both coast and country, as it is situated in rural Devon, between Dartmoor National Park to the east, and Cornwall’s Atlantic coast to the west. The area immediately surrounding the property not only has a large number of picturesque villages to explore, but also offers a range of attractions, including the Tamar Otter Centre, and Roadford Reservoir. The property’s proximity to the Cornish coast is a real draw for visitors, whether they fancy spending lazy days on Bude’s sandy beaches, exploring the pretty fishing village of Boscastle, or treading in the footsteps of the legendary King Arthur in the atmospheric town of Tintagel.

This charming barn conversion property is reached via a quiet tarmac lane, giving the property a lovely secluded feel. Once inside, the main living area is a welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which the owners have thoughtfully dressed in a homely cottage-style with inviting sofa seating, plump cushions, and exposed beams. A TV, DVD, and hi-fi provide entertainment, whilst the well-equipped kitchen area offers everything that guests will need to make themselves feel at home including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and coffee machine. One of the bedrooms, a restful double room, is located on the lower ground floor, as is the shower room with WC. The second bedroom is a galleried twin room which is accessed via stairs from the living area. The location of this room in the eaves of the property means that there is a sloping ceiling and some reduced head height.

Outside, there i garden to the rear of the property which has a patio area with a BBQ and seating, beyond which is an enclosed lawn area with views over the surrounding fields. There is ample parking available.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tillislow Barn. Elaine has added lots of little touches that added to that home from home experience throughout the barn which is set in beautiful countryside. There if we needed her.

Lovely barn, very well equipped for our stay, had everything we needed. Owner Elaine was lovely. Milk in fridge left for us very welcomed too. Very well equiped, excellent full size fridge freezer. Only 4 stars for comfort as sofas could do with replacing, and main bed very hard. Personal taste obviously but "medium" would be sensible. Twin beds upstairs wonderful! Host very pleasant.
