Property code: TROTT

Period cottage ideal for a couple’s getaway to South Cornwall with easy access to the South West Coast Path and a short drive from pretty harbour villages such as Mousehole and Newlyn.

This rural barn is one of two properties set on this 20-acre site with cattle. The bucolic location makes for a wonderful, quiet getaway, but this does not mean that you are cut off from all that Cornwall has to offer. The local village of St Buryan has a handy village store and a pub, the Buryan Inn, which offers a range of dishes should you want to escape from cooking and washing-up. A little further afield, the unique cliff-top Minack Theatre is close by, as are the coastal towns of Penzance and Lands’ End.

The heart of this property is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with its cosy wood burner set in the property’s original fireplace. Guests will enjoy closing the door on the world and retreating to this relaxing space where they can watch the TV and DVD, whilst eating a meal prepared in the property’s kitchen area. This area is well-equipped with a Cornish Heritage Stove, electric hob/plate, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The double bedroom has plentiful storage space and there is a shower room with WC. Guests should note that between the months of October – March there is an extra heating charge payable directly to the owner and towels can also be hired, again at an extra charge on request.

Outside there is a sunken garden which is a real suntrap, overlooked by a raised seating area with garden furniture and a BBQ. This is occasionally shared with the owners. There is ample parking available.
