The long sandy beaches of Westward Ho! Saunton and Croyde are within easy reach too and are popular surfing spots if you enjoy watersports. To make your break extra special you could take the iconic day trip across to Lundy Island from nearby Bideford or enjoy long evening walks through the Braunton or Northam Burrows, where you’ll be sure to witness romantic sunsets when the weather allows.

Step through the front door of the property and into the open-plan accommodation, which due to its unique nature offers a great setting for guests who wish not to cook during their break. The downstairs open-plan kitchen/diner offers a microwave oven, separate sink for washing cutlery and a small fridge – there is no oven but fantastic pubs serving delicious food surround the property. Brilliant setting for a quiet long weekend, other than on arrival we did not see a sole around us other than Birds and Sheep. Location we could not fault easy to get around via car or walking. Would definitely stop there again.

This is a quirky charming place to stay with fabulous views over the Taw estuary. Wonderfully quiet and a profusion of birdsong to wake up to. Walks along the South-West Coast path (The Tarka Trail) are just a few minutes walk away. Easy reach of many good places to eat. Great area to visit.

This cottage provided a very affordable, cosy and comfortable base for exploring the area. The views over the field and River Taw were lovely and although it is located on the edge of town it is a quiet location. The 'basic' kitchenette was in fact well equipped, with microwave, small convection oven, sandwich toaster, regular toaster, good sized fRead moreridge and freezer. We visited in winter, so didn't make use of the outside picnic tables. A lovely property and would happily stay again. Hide
