This cottage is situated in a beautiful tranquil woodland valley at Greatrock Farm on the outskirts of Hennock village and the local pub (The Palk Arms) is just a ten minute walk away.  The market town of Bovey Tracey is a short drive away and offers an interesting variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and much more. The forest surrounding the property is a haven for wildlife and offers a range of walks straight from your front door, including a private woodland track for guest use only with a great view point with picnic table. Tottiford, Trenchford and Kennick reservoirs are about an hour away on foot or a ten minute drive. Also the National Trust estate of Parke in Bovey Tracey is well worth a visit. There is easy access to Dartmoor National Park; highlights include Haytor, Houndtor and Widdecombe-on-the-Moor. Visit beautiful coastal locations such as Teignmouth, Shaldon, Torquay and Dartmouth. The cathedral city of Exeter is just half an hour away by road or why not take a scenic railway journey there from Newton Abbot train station.

One of three cottages at Greatrock Farm sleeping up to three guests, Woodcutters Cottage offers contemporary accommodation on one floor which is detached from the main farmhouse.  The three cottages altogether can sleep up to eleven people which is perfect for gatherings with family or friends. There is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has a single bed. The living room area has a wood-burning stove (with a free supply of logs) in addition to electric heaters throughout. The bathroom benefits from a separate shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel radiator. Wi-fi is available and the cottage has a Freeview TV and DVD Player. If you choose to stay in and cater for yourselves, the kitchen has an electric range cooker and ceramic hob, fridge with small freezer compartment and a microwave. To the side of the cottage is a garden area for Woodcutters guests only with outdoor dining furniture.

There are large gardens to explore with additional shared seating areas, an outdoor kitchen (with a wood fired BBQ and pizza oven), a croquet lawn, petanque court and an ornamental greenhouse from which you can observe a large variety of woodland birds feeding throughout the day.  The games barn (with home cinema) has a wood burning stove for cooler days and bi-fold doors which can be fully opened in good weather. Enjoy listening to music on the sound system whilst playing pool, table tennis, darts, table football and traditional pub games with competition standard equipment. Or relax watching your favourite film online or choose a DVD from our extensive collection. As guests you will be welcome to visit the resident alpacas whenever you like. Greatrock Farm offers alpaca walking experiences where you can lead the alpacas through ancient woodland and enjoy homemade treats and hot drinks at the summerhouse.  Also, pottery experiences during your stay can be booked at the Studio including ceramic painting (an activity you can enjoy in the comfort of your cottage), hand building/sculpting with clay and throwing clay on the wheel. Both the alpaca and pottery experiences can be booked directly with the owners after your cottage booking is confirmed and have an additional cost.

Lovely cottage. Super quiet. Great for young kids to be with the animals and the countryside. Dogs are welcomed and have a place just for them. The owners are lovely people and make guests feel really welcome. Pottery can be made and painted. Its the countryside how its meant to be. Such a wonderful place to stay. Peaceful and relaxing. The cottage is so pretty, we had fresh scones and clotted cream waiting for us on arrival. The log burner made the cottage so warm and cozy. Woodcutters Cottage is a little piece of peaceful bliss - highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good base point to stay at whilst exploring the south! The games room was such a treat, especially with the home cinema set up. There are plenty of beautiful walks nearby and it's a great location for a number of local beaches. We had a lovely stay at woodcutters cottage. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was a great base to explore the local area. V nice stay in a clean well equipped little cottage- we would perhaps book a larger property for a further stay with both the children. The Games/ entertainment room was a great addition on site

We had a lovely stay at Great rock farm, we stayed in the Woodcutters cottage and was welcomed with cream tea, which was delicious and a lovely touch. Perfect family destination, very rural position but plenty of places within easy reach. An amazing games barn with many things to do for all ages and can even have a cinema night. We had the most wonderful weekend break at Woodcutters cottage on Greatrock Farm. The cottage itself was perfect, very cute. We booked for the worst time of year, rain every day, but when we arrived there were fairy lights and cream tea, the cottage was cosy and welcoming and our hosts were lovely. Sarah emailed us before arrival with instructions on how to navigate the winding country lanes, much appreciated. Amazing location! In the middle of a natural broad leaf forest full of wildlife. So much to do on site, plus wonderful surrounding areas and town (Bovey Tracy), we will be definitely be going back to Greatlock and visit more of the surrounding area and attractions that we didn't have time for this time!

My husband and I stayed at greatrock farm Devon last year and enjoyed it so much we book out all 3 cottages for this year for a family holiday. Once again not disappointed. The games room, BBQ area are amazing and certainly kept us all entertained throughout the week from cinema nights, darts, pool, musical instruments etc. the games room is so welRead morel equipped with fastening games from years gone by. The cottage is on the small side but well equipped with some interesting furnishings. Set in a beautiful tree lined valley. It has a games room is fitted with pool, table tennis, table football and musical instruments etc to while away an afternoon or wake you in the morning. We absolutely loved our stay at Woodcutters Cottage and we will definitely be back! The hosts were lovely and the games room was a brilliant addition. It's really well furnished and even in the winter was lovely, warm and cosy. The walks around the area are stunning too.
