This delightful three-storey mill retains many of its original features and is accessed along a private track nestled in the quiet Arrow Valley with bird song and the river bubbling by and only a handful of properties within a couple of miles. An ideal location for those looking for peace and tranquillity.

Sitting on the English/Welsh border there is much to offer, footpaths and riverside walks lead direct from the property, Offa's Dyke path is close by. The Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the Wye Valley are all within easy reach. There are an abundance of National Trust properties locally, Hergest Croft Gardens, Croft Castle, Berrington Hall, Hampton Court Gardens, The Weir and the Brecon and Hereford Cathedral which features the The Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition to name but a few. Hay-on-Wye is famous for its bookshops and festivals yet still retains its old market town atmosphere.

This unique old corn mill is arranged over three floors and offers TWO bedroom areas: on the second floor, 1 double reached via the twin room. Toilet and sink in twin bedroom. Wet room: on the ground floor, with WC. Lounge: on the first-floor, spacious room with TV, DVD, Freeview and woodburner (logs available locally). Kitchen/diner: on the ground floor, with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine. Outside: enclosed area with garden furniture, overlooking the river. The Cottage is located near a bubbling stream not far from the owner, The Mill has the remnants of the architectural history visually exposed making this a unique and quite stay. Don't forget to look at the stars and night! We were a little disappointed with the oven not cleaned and also a few other areas in particular the kitchen which needed bettRead moreer cleaning. The Mill is an idyllic location for anyone who loves nature and wants a relaxing break. The setting is breathtaking, with a wealth of wildlife and beautiful countryside. A really special place, especially if you are a nature lover and in a great location for walking. Lots of interesting places to visit and activities within striking distance. Grace is a lovely host and The Mill is a great place to relax and recuperate.

If you want a perfect retreat in a peice of the country side with nature just the other side of your door then this is it. Hear the River Arrow as it wides its way through the grounds of the property. Fish, birds and insects in abundance. Wake up to the sound of Sheep. I highly recommend this beautiful quiet and very interesting holiday cottage, it has character and the host is welcoming and has an abundance of local knowledge. I would stay here again and I would recommend both my family and friends to stay here.

Had a lovely get away from all whats happening in the world with COVID-19 break, the property is in a fantastic spot by a river with cows, sheep and birds for company. The old mill is excellent with lots of original features, very cosy and the log burner is very warming on the chilly nights. Even before it was time to leave we were planning to return. The Mill is a truly rural idyll. It is the perfect place to escape to and either explore the stunning Welsh and Herefordshire countryside nearby or just stay put and enjoy the peace, the river, the wildlife and birdsong. We made delicious meals (it was so lovely there we didn't want to goRead more out to eat), we walked , we read (lots of books from Hay On Wye!) and relaxed. A lovely retreat and if peace and quiet is what you are looking for this is the one for you. Beautifully situated with walks right from the door step. Very private and stunning views from every window. Make sure you take everything with, especially the essentials like tea, coffee, cooking oil etc. you so you don't need to pop out but if you do the Read morenearest co-op is only about 3 miles up the road.
