In the village of Upton St Leonard’s this traditional stone cottage adjoins the owner’s home and is a perfect base for those wishing to explore the nearby villages and countryside. Situated on the fringe of the Cotswold’s this location offers a wealth of National Trust and English Heritage sites as well as being handy for Gloucester Docks and Quays with restaurants, cafes and shopping outlet. The Cotswold Way passes nearby for keen walkers, along with bridle and cycle paths. Coopers Hill is the venue for the annual cheese rolling. Short breaks are welcome all year round so take advantage of the many events throughout the year and stay here to visit Cheltenham races, theatre or many festivals including literature, jazz, food and Victorian Christmas markets, to name a few. Take afternoon tea in Painswick and visit the Rococo garden 3 miles away. Bristol and historic Bath are only a short drive away.
The cottage is perfect for two and the lounge/dining room has an exposed stone fireplace with built in wood burner (first basket of logs included) and a TV/DVD; perfect for cosy nights snuggled up on the sofa. The kitchen has been well equipped with electric oven and hob, a microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. There is no washing machine, but the owners offer a laundry service if required. Upstairs the comfortable double bedroom is accessed via an open tread staircase and there is a bathroom with WC, bath and overhead electric shower. There is also free Wi-Fi in the cottage.
To the front of Old Barn there are views of trees and hills and to the rear there is a courtyard garden with seating and BBQ, so you can sit and have a drink and admire the views across the owner’s land where there is a babbling stream. 1 small dog welcome with walks from the cottage including The Cotswold Way and enjoy the local shop and pub are within one mile.
