We have just returned from a week in this delightful cottage which provided ample space for our family of 5 adults. The house was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully equipped and a real pleasure to stay in. Lovely fragrant courtyard which was a real sun trap ! Only a short walk from the harbour and well situated for exploring the local area. Highly recoRead moremmended ! Hide

Beautiful house, very clean, tidy and well equipped. Lovely bedding and lots of thoughtful touches such as having the lamps on and the radio playing when we arrived! The little courtyard garden was safe and secure and filled with the gorgeous scent of flowering jasmine and honeysuckle. The house is very conveniently located in Appledore just up theRead more road from a fish and chip shop and the famous Hockings ice cream van. We would definitely recommend staying at Captain's Rest. Fantastic cottage well equipped and comfortable in the heart of Appledore . The only improvement would be designated parking but this is not practical due to location and we were able to park in the vicinity and had great holiday.

people should be warned about how hilly it is my husband and sister were more or less trapped indoors because the both have emphasemia and the parking places are few and far between. I would not go back to that place we feel a bit cheated as we looked forward to this holiday very much
