A listed farmhouse set upon the Welsh hillside. Peacefully tucked away within the fringe of a historic village, lovingly restored with a mix of exposed stone and original beams enhancing its character and warmth.

The property is just a short distance from Maesteg an archetypal valleys town, alive with the traditions of music and mining history and now a playground for thrill seekers. Well placed for several attractions to include Margam Country Park, 1000 acres of countryside with a castle, deer park and visitors centre, Parc Slip nature reserve with over 10km of safe paths where children can discover the local wildlife. For mountain bike enthusiasts the owner’s wealth of knowledge for the local paths is on hand at your convenience. The beautiful South Wales countryside is on the doorstep with the traditional seaside resort and surfing beaches of Porthcawl 10 miles away , the stunning Gower Peninsula, Swansea and the bright lights of the Welsh capital Cardiff are within driving distance. As you open the front door of this character property you will enter the spacious lounge area, with a comfy sofa, TV, exposed beams and an inglenook fire place with a wood burner. This is the perfect space to relax and unwind with family and friends after a busy day exploring South Wales. As you stroll through the lounge you will enter the farmhouse kitchen with formal dining area and views across the rear garden. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher along with a separate utility room with washing machine and freezer. There is also a handy ground floor shower room with a shower and WC. As you make your way back to the lounge area the last room to complete the ground floor is the character double bedroom with feature fireplace, the perfect space for a good night’s rest. As you head up the stairs from the lounge you will find yourself on the cosy landing, the first bedroom you reach is the light and airy double bedroom with views to the front of the property, next along the corridor you will find the shower room with shower and WC, to enjoy a hot rinse after an active day exploring. To complete the first floor will be the spacious double bedroom with an additional single bed.

Heading outside, you will find an enclosed garden area to the front of the property with seating, the perfect space to enjoy a morning coffee. To the rear of the property you will find a large garden area, the perfect space to enjoy the fresh air with family and friends. There is ample private parking at the property and storage for bikes and surfboards by request with the owner. Please note this property has a private water supply.

Absolutely Stunning 14 Century Welsh Farm Cottage Barry Island & Mumbles a must , country walks & zip wire for the more adventurous. Oh and the chickens, horses, piglets & cows to keep you company

This is a fantastic property, in a beautiful location away from the hustle of everyday life! The view is fantastic. The hosts Jo and Karl were just the best, very friendly and offered suggestions of great places to visit. A lovely cottage on the owners mini farm, joining their property. Jo and Karl were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. A clean spacious cottage with 3 double beds plus a single bed and 2 bathrooms which is so useful when going with an adult family and their partners. Beautiful views, ask for directions up to the forestry behind the cottage. CentrRead moreal to many places. Property has a washing machine, mini freezer and dishwasher. For us, the property was just perfect Away from it all, at the top of the hill with stunning views, nice and quiet with nobody around but our hosts. That said, you are within 45 minutes drive of some of the best beaches in the UK and 30 mins to the cities (Cardiff, Swansea). Our hosts were very laid-back and helpful and friendly, couldnt ask for beRead moretter. Everything we needed was on hand and we were delighted with the place. Lovely property on a working farm in the hills above Maesteg. Lovely views and walks from property. Property is very clean and tidy. A little basic, but did everything we needed.

Great location, we loved all the animals, were made to feel very welcomed by the owners. Lovely cottage with loads of character. We hope to return back one day.

We had a lovely stay at Pentre Farm with 5 friends, the cottage was very cosy with lovely views from the back garden. It was great to wake up to calves on the front door step and horses in the field next door. There are several walking routes within 5-15 minutes of the cottage and a great pub just a 20 minute walk away where we had a tasty evening Read moremeal. Maesteg is a short drive away for any supermarkets and Gower and Swansea under an hour drive. Would definitely stay again. Hide

This is a cottage smack bang in the middle of the Welsh countryside with amazing views. The owners were very hospitable and were on hand when needed. The property was very clean and all furnishings were of a high standard as was the decor of the cottage.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and we had everything we needed. The views were excellent, and there were nice walks around the property and in the local area. The owners were very helpful and welcoming, and our daughter loved it when they introduced her to all their animals.
