Approached via a farm lane this converted former dairy and hayloft is the ideal country retreat to explore the South Cornwall coast. A great family escape for visitors of all ages.

Approached via a farm lane and set in 250-acres on a Cornish farm, this comfortable farmhouse-style conversion which used to be the dairy and hayloft, enjoys an inverted design, with bedrooms on the ground floor and the family areas on the first floor. It’s superbly located to take advantage of the West Country. Guests are welcome to visit the farm by arrangement to watch a variety of activities (enquire for more details). The accommodation is three miles away from the world-famous Eden Project, the Luxulyan Valley and Viaduct, the tall ships and maritime museums of Charlestown, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and many great National Trust and English Heritage properties. Within five miles there are a number of golf courses including Lostwithiel and Lanhydrock. The sandy beach at Par, Fowey and Looe are also within a reasonable driving distance.  It is also well placed for local shops and amenities too.

Both of the property’s bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The first is a large room with a double bed and an en-suite with shower and WC. The second bedroom has twin beds. The bathroom is nearby and comes complete with a shower over bath and WC. Upstairs is an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Take advantage of the views over the neighbouring field where cattle graze occasionally. The exposed beams, traditional Cornish granite and comfortable farmhouse style of the conversion creates a perfect holiday retreat.  At the top of the steps to the first floor is a stair gate for safety. The comfortable lounge area has an electric wood burner effect fire, and a TV/DVD with Freeview. The dining table seats four guests. The kitchen area is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge with ice compartment, and a dishwasher – the washing machine is downstairs in the entrance hall.

The outside offers a pleasant enclosed garden with seating and a BBQ to relax with. There is also a private hot tub. There is parking on the driveway for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The Chestnut Tree was a perfect place for a honeymoon! The location was quiet and peaceful, but still within easy reach of some great attractions. The cottage itself was very cosy and we really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub in the evening.

The property is lovely the lounge could do with some updating. The hot tub was not clean and had a ring of brown scum, so we stopped using it, with COVID this should be emptied and the chemicals refreshed. I own my own hot tub, which is regularly tested for quality

Perfect little hideaway off the beaten track. Quiet little cottage with everything you could need, very clean and perfectly adequate for a weeks stay. Friendly and prompt hosts and really helpful with recommendations on the local area. Even allowed us to visit their dairy farm.

Lovely cottage in quiet location next to a local farm. Local facilities, beach and other attractions in short driving distance away. Owners of the cottage were welcoming and our children enjoyed the farm visit.

If you like peace and quiet this is the place. Completely isolated and off the beaten track and perfect for star gazers although within easy access of some beautiful places. Our welcome was very friendly and warm and the house was spacious and clean. A great location for exploring the many attractions of the area.
