This charming semi-detached cottage benefits from magnificent mountain and loch views, situated on the wild unspoiled North West Coast of Scotland, ideal for those looking for peace, quiet and tranquillity

Situated on the wild unspoiled West coast of Sutherland overlooking Loch a Chadh-fi, just 5 miles to the fishing village of Kinlochbervie and 16 miles to Durness. In an area of outstanding beauty with an abundance of wildlife. There are numerous mountains close by ideal for walkers, Munro baggers and climbers. The rugged coastline offers lovely sandy beaches, including Sandwood bay, said to be the most magnificent beach in the UK. Ridgway Adventure offers fantastic sea and loch water sports, or sit back and enjoy a spot of loch, river and sea fishing, loch fly fishing permits can be obtained directly from owner. Access to the property is via a set of external stone steps.

On entering the property guests will discover the lounge/diner, a welcoming space with a cosy, homely feel thanks to the exposed beams and stone fireplace with warming wood burner (logs included) there is a TV/DVD for you to relax and watch after a day out exploring. Enjoy your meals at the table by the picturesque window with stunning views over the loch. Back through the hallway you will find the well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer. The bathroom has a shower over bath and WC. When the day is done retire to the comfy double bedroom.

Stepping back outside there is an enclosed garden which is shared with the owner's friendly dog. Enjoy the spectacular mountain and loch views from seating area. There is ample off-road parking.

The setting is idyllic, overlooking a sea loch and surrounded by hills. Yes, it's off the 'beaten track' , although the NC500 does pass the end of the road, The real mountains, the real highlands are not too far away. Including Arkle and Foinavon. Nicely proportioned interior with great views down loch a chadh - fi.

The cottage is set in a really spectacular location. Very quiet, lots of nature (deer and many different species of birds). The level of comfort the hosts have achieved at such a remote location is impressive. Getting there is a bit adventurous; off the NC500 on what is no doubt Scotlands smallest single track road. Perfect cottage for a couple. The living room has the most amazing views over the sea loch often with deer grazing just over the fence. Theres a cosy wood burner and even without that its always warm and a lovely place to come back to after a bracing walk. Superb location with lovely cosy lounge. The weather can change dramatically in the north west so the wood burning stove was a real blessing. The cottage is really well insulated so after a wet day on the hills it was soon toasting ! Constant hot water was also really welcomed to ease the aching muscles. The hosts were that perfect balance of we knew they were there if we needed anything, but they weren't intrusive. Perfect! The house and garden had everything we needed. Loved the location and the cottage ideal for two people. The view is stunning and very peaceful. Make sure you get supplies, as not many places to eat around there.

Great position with the view up the loch. Also a bonus that you can walk the dog/dogs straight from the door. Good value considering the recent inflated prices of holiday cottages.

Lovely place to stay..uneven driveway but just take it slow and no problems . Thanks to Graham and Lynn for a great week. Brilliant location, good comfort, spotlessly clean. One thing to be mindful of, neither good nor bad, just factual. Access from car to cottage is about 30 metres and not great for someone dodgy on their feet as the duck-boarding can be slippery and the steps are quite uneven. A wonderful cosy, characterful cottage with exceptional views in all weathers. A perfect relaxing place to get away from everything. We brought kayaks and were able to launch from the bottom of the garden. There was always something to watch out of the window!

Very peaceful, remote and stunning views over the loch...the perfect place to unwind no phone signal but walk up to the top of the road and it usually works. The owners were very warm and welcoming and there if you needed them. Lovely secure garden for dogs shared with the owner's dog. Splendid and very cosy cottage ... with personal touch & all you things you need to enjoy the time away from it all. Spectacular scenery and great wilderness - Sutherland in a nutshell !
