This sympathetically developed barn conversion has been lovingly transformed into a modern style living space with integrations of wooden furnishings and ceiling beams offering a tranquil and awe-inspiring idyllic rural surroundings in the Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty. Located on the edge of the Quantocks situated near stunning locations such as Exmoor with its wild ponies and red deer; quaint villages are also nearby such as Dunster where you can visit the Dunster Castle. Other amenities here are tea shops, ice cream shops and a working water on the River Avill.

Entering the rustic red brick building from the bi-folding front door opens up the large open plan interior; the initial area will be the snug lounge complete with a sofa, armchair and TV. This area has a wood burner and has DVD capabilities. Beside the living area is the open plan kitchen/diner decorated in a modern mix of white, black and oak furnishings. The kitchen includes electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. The dining area contains a wooden table with cushioned seats. Up two stairs from the kitchen is the king size bedroom complete with bedside unit and body length mirror. The bathroom contains a sink, WC and a large walk in shower. Underfloor heating is available.

Outside there is an enclosed garden with an eco wood-fired hot tub, patio area, garden furniture (table and chairs) and a BBQ. Lockable facilities for bikes available.

This is the second time that we have stayed at Shepherds Croft, and we have loved it. The accommodation is well presented and clean and has everything you need for your stay. Situated in a quiet spot for a relaxing break. The hot tub is just fantastic!

We really enjoyed our week at Shepherd's Croft. It's a great base from which to explore Somerset, the cottage is clean & modern and Karen was a very helpful host.

We really enjoyed ourselves exploring the lovely lanes and local walks with our dog. Beautiful, Karen was so welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was very clean, beautiful place to stay. Shepherds Croft is beautifully designed and perfect for our nervous rescue dog. Karen was excellent at communicating all the necessary information needed and respectful of not disturbing us. We cannot recommend this beautiful property enough. Karen was so helpful and we were welcomed with fresh eggs, milk, tea, coffee and some treats for our pup. The location is excellent as its quiet but not far away from local amenities. The property was exceptionally clean and had everything you need. Absolutely perfect for our Christmas Break, there is nothing they owners havent thought of. They are welcoming and accommodating. Cleanliness is second to none, but its the little touches that make a huge difference ,such as fresh milk and eggs on arrival and a little treat for us humans and furry friends alike.

Very clean and well equipped property. Very comfortable bed. Stunning views; lots of walks. Maypole pub does a superb Sunday lunch. Very helpful, thoughtful owners. Local village doesnt have very much to offer, but useful for groceries. Lovely National Trust, Fyne Court nearby.

Lovely quiet location , foxes just outside the window every day , roe deer also in abundance . Locally Kings Cliff wood a great place to walk the dog . The local public house had an extensive menu , good quality ! Great holiday .

Perfect retreat, relaxing, peaceful and met all our needs. The host was very helpful, very responsive, and made it clear they were contactable any time and willing to help in any way they could. A very clean cottage overall, the dog loved it and special mention for an amazing rainfall shower.

This is a fantastic little property. Perfect for two (and not small in that respect either). Well appointed, great views, lovely plot, private without being horribly isolated. Easy transport links to the area. Lovely hosts. I think we would both say this is about the best UK cottage we have ever stayed at.

We had a lovely stay. I took my fiance and our dog (long haired chihuahua, Penelope) and it was perfect. Its lovely and quiet, and apart from greeting us, the owners left us to it (but were available on WhatsApp at any time). We visited the Maypole Inn a few times (dog friendly), popped into Bridgwater for dinner one evening, and went to Clarks OutRead morelet Village (dog friendly - we didnt know this until we got there!). There is a huge Sainsburys less than 15 minutes away #helpful Hide

This is a fab holiday cottage with everything one needs and in a great location with super friendly hosts. Well equipped kitchen, modern bathroom and comfy bed. The dog was very happy with the space outside to run about safely.

This accommodation and location is perfect if you are holidaying with your dog. We have stayed in dog friendly accommodation before and always found it really stressful as it is very rarely actually dog friendly. Return visit to this lovely property. Great views, quiet location, fab underfloor heating and a woodburner for extra cosiness. We spent a week at Shepherds Croft and we couldnt fault a single thing. The property is very tastefully decorated and has everything you need to be self-sufficient for the week. The location was stunning and the enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. The whole trip was utter bliss and well likely rebook for next year!
