We love coming to this upside down cottage. It's the ideal place to go for a get away. Lots of places to go on long walks. Near to National Trust properties and only an hour's bus ride from Newcastle. Plus Duridge Bay is only a short drive away.

Lovely place to go to, good sized rooms, really homely, good cooking facilities (although we always take our own slow cooker and utensils.) If we didn't like it we wouldn't keep on coming back time and time again. John and Susan are a lovely welcoming couple and provide welcome goodies, they even put a Christmas tree up for us.

Whinneycook Cottage was fabulous. I don't think we have ever stayed in such a well appointed and creatively laid out holiday property before. It was spotlessly clean and spacious with plenty of room for ourselves and two dogs. The roof terrace was a real treat on sunny days with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The property adjoins thRead moree owners house, but we never felt overlooked and the cottage benefits from the extra security of the owners electronic gates. Hide

A lovely cottage, bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs and a lovely kitchen/ lounge upstairs which leads out onto an outside space with furniture on astro turf. Very private with views of the countryside around. In a good location with easy access to the main routes. A small Coop store a short walk away was very handy
