Property code: 37089

Charming barn conversion with unspoilt views in a tranquil rural location, set within three acres of the owner’s land, and situated just outside the pretty village of Buckland Brewer.

Buckland Brewer is situated in deepest North Devon, surrounded by rolling green countryside, forests and woodlands and a welcoming pub. The area surrounding the property has much on offer to visitors, no matter what their tastes and interests, including the traditional fishing village of Appledore, the attractive harbour town of Bideford and the privately owned village Clovelly. Some of the attractions nearby include RHS Rosemoor, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep, both family adventure parks and the large sandy beach at Westward Ho! With so much to do, your holiday can be as relaxing or as busy as you like.

This converted barn is attached to the owner’s house, but has its own entrance and guests are assured of their privacy. The reverse level layout means that the bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The first of these is a double bedroom, whilst the second bedroom is a twin room, both have beamed ceilings and handy writing desks. The bathroom has a shower over bath and a WC. Upstairs, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has been unusually decorated to reflect the heritage of the building and has a lovely light and spacious feel to it, thanks to the vaulted ceiling and the large windows which afford splendid views across the neighbouring fields. There is a wood burner in the lounge area, to keep the room lovely and cosy, no matter what the weather is like outside, as well as a TV/DVD. Behind the lounge area, the kitchen/diner is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.

Venturing outside, there is an enclosed patio garden with outside seating, which gives guests a great place to sit out and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Additionally, guests have access to a field which has a children’s play area with a trampoline and climbing equipment. Guests should be aware that there is a pond at one end of the field, so children will need careful supervision. There is also ample off-road parking available.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom
  • Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs included)
  • Electric and electric heating included
  • Ample off-road parking

  • Regret no pets
  • Beach 5 miles
  • Pub and shop located in the village of Buckland Brewer
  • TV/DVD in lounge
  • Sister cottage 37090 (Beckbury) on site, enabling bookings for larger groups

Just the best place to relax and unwind. A cosy cottage with beautiful views. The only sounds to be heard were the geese and chickens. Our hosts Anne and Richard made our staycation so special. They work tirelessly. The cottage is so comfy and cosy. Set down a track off a country lane the setting is peaceful surrounded by green fields. The barn conversion was rebuilt by Richard after "retiring" as a carpenter and joiner restoring period buildings. It is a lovely place for young children with space to run around and chickens to investigate. Richard and Anne were helpful, friendly and discreet.
