Fishguard with its picturesque harbour has an array of gift shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs and offers the opportunity of viewing the Last Invasion Tapestry, which has been compared to the Bayeux Tapestry. For enthusiastic walkers, join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path which stretches 186 miles and explore east towards Dinas Head and the beautiful Newport Sands, with the opportunity to watch dolphins and seals. Newport Links Golf Course is also situated nearby, with stunning views across the bay. The beautiful Preseli Hills are just a short drive away, where you can visit the historic Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber. St. Davids, the smallest city in the UK, with its magnificent cathedral and Bishop's Palace is also close by, together with nearby family attractions such as Castell Henllys. A wealth of festivals throughout the year also take place in Fishguard, including the Fishguard Folk Festival in May, the International Music Festival in July and the Aberjazz Jazz & Blues Festival in August.

Walk up the driveway and step into the porch, where you can hang your coats and kick off your boots. Continue into the open-plan lounge/dining room, where you will immediately feel at home. There are two large comfortable sofas which are perfect for curling up and watching a good film, soft carpets throughout and patio doors leading to your own private garden space. There is also a selection of books and board games to choose from. Straight ahead you will see the doorway through to the traditional kitchen, which is well-equipped for preparing and cooking meals during your stay. This looks out over the garden, with a useful utility room next door. Heading upstairs there are 3 bedrooms to choose from, all with freshly laundered bedding and towels - 1 double with en-suite shower room, 1 further double and 1 twin. There is also a family bathroom.

Lovely Ropeyard Cottage! We love it and keep returning, it's a perfect, spacious homely place in a fabulous location. Sue the owner is very quick and responsive to any problems so I would wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

The cottage is basically ok, most of what you need is there. It is however in a housing estate though accessible to all local amenities including getting to the harbour, but if walking is a problem then you would be advised to go by car as it's steep. It was a good base to explore the area and there are some beautiful beaches up & down the coast.

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage (logically ordered too so I found everything immediately), which gave plenty of space for our group of 4. Comfortable beds. Utility area and extra cloakroom v useful, no rush for bathrooms to get out! Conveniently located near a large Co-Op, short walk to fantastic coastal paths, beautiful, and Strumble HeRead moread only a short drive away. Only downside was difficulty in eating out , as many places closed (down or due to Covid?) so do book. Royal Oak good too Hide

A lovely, well equipped house on a quiet estate. Ideally situated for coastal walks. Fishguard itself has supermarket and shops just a short walk from the property. The surrounding area has many bays to drive to and is much quieter than further south in the Tenby area. We will definitely return.

Lovely, roomy cottage. Very comfortable and everything to a high standard. Wonderful fully equiped kitchen and very comfortable beds. Three loos a bonus! Nice private garden with good quality seating. The cottage is in a good position within the town, with a a pleasant 10 minute walk down Ropeyard and through the park to the well stocked Co Op.

The kitchen at Ropeyard Cottage was the best equipped for a holiday let we have come across. Comfortable and homely. A short 10 minute walk into town or to the well-equipped Co-op. If the weather is better in the south it is only about 50 minutes to get down to the Tenby area. Otherwise it is a great location for the north part of the coast path. WRead moree were very happy with the Covid cleaning arrangements. Hide
