This pretty Georgian cottage is near a marina, offering spectacular waterside views of the Menai Straits.

The property is set in an elevated position in Y Felinheli, near the royal town of Caernarfon. Here you can explore the narrow streets and waterfront development with its shops, restaurants, cinema, theatre and galleries. Visit the 13th century castle, take a trip on a steam train with the Welsh Highland Railway, or cruise on the Menai Straits. Bangor is also nearby, as are the pretty harbour town of Beaumaris on Isle of Anglesey and Snowdonia National Park.

Full of character, the beautifully restored cottage has exposed beams and period features aplenty, and has nautical decor throughout to reflect the surrounding area. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner has a feature fireplace and a wood burner effect electric fire, as well as a TV and DVD, CD and iPod dock. In the kitchen area you’ll find an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and there’s a tumble dryer in the utility room. Relax in the conservatory and take in the incredible coastal views. The cottage has two bedrooms - one double with an en-suite shower and WC and one bunk bedroom - and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Heading outside you’ll find a terrace with a BBQ and garden furniture, where you can relax and look out over the sea with a glass of wine or enjoy an al fresco dinner. The cottage has roadside parking.

Original and quirky. Lovely decor. Very comfortable. Fabulous view. Lovely in Winter but it must be super in the garden in Summer. Everything in the cottage that you could need.

Bryn Afon is a beautiful little cottage. The views from the garden were truly amazing. We made the most of the sun room. We enjoyed the sun all day long late into night. The cottage is well looked after and it met all our needs. There is a local supermarket about 5 min away. Anglesey is a stones throw away! Snowdonia is 20 to 30 minutes away. The property has a very homely and lived in feel. The owners have managed to do this without it feeling false or contrived. The beds are comfy, the bathrooms excellent. I didn't watch any TV but my 11 year old did seemed fine. The view out the back is stunning.
