Bijou cottage situated in an elevated position overlooking the harbour town of Bideford, with its own private hot tub, garden, and far-reaching views to the River Torridge.

This cottage is situated in the grounds of the owner’s home on the outskirts of the historic harbour town of Bideford. The town, with its quaint cobbled streets, traditional pannier market, independent shops, and range of well-regarded eateries, is a great place to enjoy a slice of authentic Devonshire life and is a fantastic base for exploring the surrounding area. The two-mile wide beach at Westward Ho! is just three miles away, as is the pretty village beach at Instow. A ferry runs from Instow, taking passengers across the estuary to the neighbouring fishing village of Appledore, where visitors will find a number of bistros and a pretty quay where they can watch the fishermen return with the day’s catch.

This single-storey property offers comfortable accommodation, which makes a fantastic base for a couple who want to enjoy a relaxing break in North Devon. The open-plan living area, comprising of a lounge/kitchen/diner, is a light-filled space where guests can forget about the stresses of everyday, sit back on the sofa, and enjoy the wood burner-effect electric fire, Smart TV and DVD. A breakfast bar separates the lounge area from the kitchen, which is equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. The property’s one bedroom has a king-size bed with an en-suite shower room and WC.

Outside, there is a shingled patio area with bench seating to the front of the property, whilst to the rear there is a well-appointed garden, again, mostly shingled, which is home to the wonderfully relaxing hot tub, as well as garden furniture, and a BBQ which can also be used as a firepit and a pizza oven, making this a wonderful space in which to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and the views over the neighbouring countryside. To the left of the cottage a private woodland can be found with a short trail, perfect for a quick morning walk. Or for those longer walks - Fords Wood nature reserve is located a short walk away. There is ample off-road parking

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Tarka View is a romantically situated cottage at the top of a hill overlooking the Taw river and Tarka trail; the cottage is small but perfect for a couple looking to get away from it all. With the town accessible by walking or lots of beach walks 10-15 minutes drive away it was the perfect spot for us.
