A cosy cottage with great countryside views, nestled in the foothills of the Quantock Hills. Sitting to one side of the owners’ own home at the end of a sweeping driveway, this delightful property is accessed through electric gates. It’s fully self-contained and privacy is assured, making it an ideal spot for couples and small families. The rural location is just a 30 minute walk to the village of Bishops Lydeard - home of the West Somerset Railway. The village has a Co-op supermarket, newsagent and traditional butchers. There is also has a tea room, farm shop, Chinese takeaway and 2 pubs. The sandy beaches of West Somerset are just a short drive - perfect for a day relaxing out. Also great for exploring are the rugged splendour of Exmoor and The Blackdown Hills. The county town of Taunton with its extensive shopping and leisure facilities is just 5 miles away and home to the racecourse and County Cricket Ground. In the area are several golf courses. The Cathedral cities of Bath and Wells are only an hour away by car and is in the same area as the enchanting town of Glastonbury and Street where Clarke's Outlet Shopping Village is located on the old shoe factory site. To the south is the famous Jurassic Coast with the coastal towns of Sidmouth, Breer and Lyme Regis for a seaside day out. The cottage is clean and well equipped with everything you need. The lounge/diner, which has plenty of comfy seating for you to curl up in while watching the TV or a DVD. There’s also a large dining table. The spacious kitchen is well-equipped with a gas oven and hob, microwave and fridge/freezer, as well as a dishwasher. You’ll also find a washer/dryer and outdoor clothes line. There are two comfortable bedrooms for you to enjoy a good night’s sleep - one king size and one single, both with breath-taking countryside views. The bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC. Heading outside you’ll find a small patio area to the rear with with seating and a gas BBQ.  At the side and front of the property is a large lawn area. The property has ample off-road parking.

Lovely quiet location. Fantastic property with everything you need for a great stay. Tim the owner was informative and non intrusive but there if you needed him. Will definitely stay here again.

A modern well equipped small house, in quiet location. The furniture and all appliances are well maintained and we found it to be clean and warm. Modern bathroom. Lots of hot water. Pleasant views from upper floor. Easy access by car to excellent walks in the area and we even managed some lovely walks from the house without using the car. This is a really lovely cosy, comfortable and clean cottage with great views. Tim the owner was very helpful and welcoming. A nice welcome pack when you arrive which is a thoughtful touch. Plenty of wildlife to be seen in the garden. Make sure you go into the garden at dusk to look for bats. The surrounding area is beautiful and there are lots of pRead morelaces to explore nearby. Stoneage cottage is peaceful, well equipped, comfortable and surrounded by beautiful countryside. It's a great base for walking in the Quantocks or touring this part of Somerset, with the advantages of a great heritage railway and plenty of shops and other amenities not far away. Lovely, comfortable and peaceful cottage and garden with all the equipment and comfort you need. Very clean. Narrow lanes near house (as is normal on Quantocks!) but easily accessible to visit other areas of Somerset and north Devon as well as Quantocks. Tim is a very welcoming host.

Lovely homely cottage about a mile out from the village of Bishops Lydeard (accessed by small country lanes but not a problem as other road users very considerate). Beautiful gardens to sit out in. This beautifully situated cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The views from both bedrooms are stunning as you are close to the most spectacular walks and picnic sites. A very good position, quiet, scenic views, very friendly owner who was happy to talk and share ideas. Easy access to coastal resorts and inner county areas. Small roads like the width of your car, scatter Somerset, so getting to the cottage can be interesting but you soon find your easiest and best route and we had no problems in a week. The cottage was great the owners were very welcoming nothing to much trouble we are thinking of going back very soon.The only problem was the narrow lanes getting to the cottage apart from that we would highly recommend it.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful rural setting, very clean and comfortable. The living room is very nice and the kitchen well equipped, also the gardens are very lovely. Very hospitable host. Lovely welcome pack with cider, beer and fudge all sourced locally. Great base for exploring surrounding area, including Glastonbury, Dunster and even South Devon Coast. Was quite isolated so be prepared for not being able to walk locally to pub or village due to narrow country lanes - didnt stop us getting around to so many dRead moreifferent places.
