This property enjoys a pleasantly secluded rural location in mid-Wales, just one mile from the attractive market town of Rhayader, the first town on the River Wye. The town boasts a good range of shops and eateries, as well as being home to the Elan Valley Visitor Centre which makes a great first port of call for those who want to enjoy the area’s miles of scenic walks. On the outskirts of the town, Gigrin Farm is a great place for wildlife lovers to spend an afternoon, as it is home to the Red Kite feeding centre, with daily feeds when guests can see these magnificent birds up close. Further afield, guests may like to visit the literary town of Hay-on-Wye or the seaside town of Aberystwyth.
The front door of this attractive mill cottage opens directly into the spacious dining room which has been attractively finished with a beamed ceiling, large feature fireplace, and a dining table which comfortably seats six. Moving through to the lounge, guests will find a cosy, relaxing space with a warming wood burner, TV, and Blu-ray player, whilst the fantastic sun room offers a second lounge area, which enjoys panoramic views across the patio to the countryside beyond. Keen cooks will be pleased to see that the property’s kitchen is well-equipped with everything they will need to prepare their favourite dishes, including a Range-style oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. There is also a wet room with shower and WC on the ground floor. On the first floor, meanwhile, guests will find three stylish bedrooms. Two of these are king-size rooms, both of which can be made up as twin rooms on request, thanks to their zip-and-link beds. One of these benefits from an en-suite shower room with a shower and WC, whilst the other has an en-suite WC. The third bedroom is a twin room which, again, has an en-suite shower and WC.
Outside, there is a patio garden which is accessed through the sun room, offering garden furniture and a BBQ. Beyond this, there is a beautiful streamside garden, which is a fantastic place to relax, but guests should be aware that children must be supervised at all times.
