DETATCHED COTTAGE SURROUNDED BY COUNTRYSIDE WITH WALKS FROM YOUR DOOR

Big skies and wide-reaching views of undulating fields and stunning Monmouthshire countryside, the cottage is a complete retreat, in an area teeming with natural beauty, with plenty of great activities and days out within very easy reach.

Sitting adjacent to the beautiful Wye Valley, with many fabulous walks right on your doorstep, including the Gloucestershire Way and Offa’s Dyke Path within ten minutes.  The Black Mountains are also in easy reach, whilst fantastic fishing can be found nearby on the River Usk, with day permits available locally. Chepstow is a traditional market town within a short drive, steeped in history and where you can explore the castle or relax within the castle grounds, or enjoy the many restaurants, pubs and local shops. The peaceful village of Tintern, famed for the ruins of Tintern Abbey and books, is perfect for a lazy afternoon tea. The Forest of Dean is within easy reach, with activities such as the Sculpture trail at Beechenhurst Woods, Go Ape climbing centre and Puzzlewood, where many TV shows and films such As Harry Potter and Star Wars have been made.

The entrance leads you into a beautiful and cosy dining area with exposed oak beams and an original stone flagged floor, with the bonus of underfloor heating. The comfortable lounge has a large sofa, from which to enjoy the warmth of the wood burner on chillier Autumn nights, and a TV and DVD for evening entertainment. A few steps leads you to a spacious and well equipped kitchen with electric oven and induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, plus drying racks. There is a patio door leading to a terrace with gorgeous countryside views, perfect for whiling away the hours listening to the birdsong. Upstairs are two extremely comfortable bedrooms: the master king-size with en-suite shower room with rain shower and a second bedroom with twin beds, both of which have countryside views. The main bathroom has bath, shower and separate WC and is located downstairs.

Outside there is a fully fenced rear garden, making it perfect for dogs, with beautiful views, BBQ, firepit and outdoor seating in summer months.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage with everything you could need and more. Beds and sofa were SO comfy and the views were just a delight. I really highly recommend this place. Everything inside felt high quality, like the bedding and pillows and super luxury bath towels. Thw garden was super secure for our dog and the kithen well equipped and a real joy Read moreto cook in. The log burner was wonderful this time of year. What a find! Gorgeous cottage equipped with everything. The surroundings were beyond stunning with amazing views from every window. The quietness was unbelievable - we have two dogs and one is reactive to a bird on a roof a mile away yet there was simply no sound for him to react to (did not bark once!). The garden is the most dog secure garden we Read morehave stayed as this same dog is an escapologist and he could not find any way out. Dog friendly pubs/trstaurants nearby in Usk. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. The house was comfortable and well equipped. The owners were extremely helpful. The setting was a perfect blend of remote and peaceful with plenty of towns and villages in easy reach. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area.

The cottage was gorgeous, furnished luxuriously whilst maintaining a homely feel. Kitchen extremely well equipped, bedroom very comfortable with a large en-suite, cosy lounge with log burner which was easy to use and burned well. The enclosed garden was great for the dogs.

One of the best locations we have stayed in with my dogs, beautiful and multiple walks directly from the doorstep. Stunning views from all windows, bedrooms beautiful and very comfortable. Bathrooms modern and clean.

Beautiful cottage in fabulous location. Peaceful break with wonderful walks on the doorstep. We went on many great walks nearby. Worth visiting the butchers in Raglan for the tasty Faggots. The only problem with this visit is having to leave.

Lovely secluded cottage in superb rural setting. Very peaceful and relaxing stay. Log burner great for extra warmth! Very cosy. Well equipped kitchen. Twin beds not entirely suitable for adults as slatted base gave way, twice, when sat on! The cottage and surrounding views are beautiful. Most things you would need for a couple of days stay are there and it is very cosy and comfortable with under floor heating. There are walks straight out of the garden gates to take your dog across the fields, almost alone except for the sheep. Wonderful to switch off and relax. Driving down the lane to the cottage the beautiful surroundings took our breath away. We had an amazing week in the cottage, enjoying long walks, evenings by the fire with a glass of wine, spending time with our friends who came with us , the cottage was so comfortable, lovely and warm with underfloor heating, our dogs loved laying out in front of Read morethe fire. We really enjoyed our stay at Fox and Hounds. Beautiful location, cosy and comfy cottage and blessed with autumnal sunshine! We had a few lovely walks with the dog and enjoyed lunch at the farm shop and dinner at the Star. We will be back as it is a great location to meet our boys who are both living in the south west. A beautiful cottage, wonderfully located for easy access from the motorway, yet secluded and with a sense of being tucked away in the middle of the countryside. The private, secure garden was also a bonus for our dog.

An excellent cottage, which has been thoughtfully and skilfully renovated, in a beautiful valley, with wide views on one side. There are lots of footpaths nearby, as well as interesting places to visit. It was very relaxing. The internet worked very well if you want to keep in touch with the wider world. I didn't.

The cottage was lovely, off the beaten track but that suited us. We were very comfortable and blessed with nice weather most of the time so were able to make good use of the beautiful garden. What a lovely peaceful setting - rolling hills and sheep, warm cottage with lovely log fire and gorgeous comfy beds - what more can you ask! I couldn't recommend it highly enough if you want a get-away-from-it-all, quiet and cosy cottage with walks from the door. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Lovely cottage on its own, bed and pillows were so comfortable, lovely views of the countryside and no night glow on a clear night, there wasnt a lot to do there, but its great if you like walking, so nice to get away from the hussle and bustle of everyday life.
