LOVELY OLD STONE COTTAGE NEAR THE SUGAR LOAF MOUNTAIN

Set on the edge of a quiet hamlet, tucked away up a leafy lane, in the eastern reaches of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the property is the perfect location to explore the very best of what the Black Mountains has to offer.

Just 3 miles from the market town of Abergavenny with its' Norman Castle, farmer's markets,cinema and well established annual Food Festival each September. You can even enjoy some hearty mountain biking and pony trekking nearby. There are numerous trails from the door, both on foot, or by bike. With bike hire available locally and storage easily arranged. The owner is able to offer advice on mountain biking and off-road biking during your stay. Hay on Wye is well worth the drive, lots of bookshops, unique stores and a spectacular drive through the mountains. History lovers will love Hereford, with its large cathedral housing the Mappa Mundi.

The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size and 1 twin. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: with woodburner (logs provided), TV, DVD and CD player/radio. Kitchen area, electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. Outside: private garden with lawn, outdoor furniture and BBQ. Amenities: towels, electric and electric heating included. Wi-Fi available if required. 2 dogs welcome. Regret no smoking.  Additional info: washing/dryer available if required within the owners property. Private parking and bike storage available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

SLEEPS 2 - 4: Two upstairs bedrooms, a large king-size bedroom with room for a cot and views of the Sugar Loaf. Plus a twin bedroom. Cot and highchair available if needed.

EATING: Open plan kitchen stocked with kitchen essentials (oil, salt, tea etc.) with electric oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. Wooden farmhouse table and chairs.

RELAXING: Open plan living space with cosy sofas and large wood burning stove with logs provided, electric heating included, TV, DVD, CD Player / Radio.

KEEPING CLEAN: Bathroom with bath, shower, basin and separate loo are off the main living space. Towels are included and there is access to a washing machine/dryer in owners property.

OUTSIDE: South facing private garden with lawn, pretty cottage flowers, outdoor furniture and a bike store available.

A lovely cottage in a quiet location. Great for a real hide away break, and away from the hustle and bustle of suburbia. Lots of walks and sightseeing nearby.

The cottage was lovely . We had a good time hope to return next year, ideal for dogs lots of good walks from the doorstep. Abergavenny was a lovely town too, with a good market and a nice bakery in the town.

The cottage was in a very lovely spot away from civilization other than one neighbour. There was a great pub down the road which served good food and was dog friendly but you are advised to book as it gets very busy.

Gem of a cottage tucked away on a beautiful Welsh hillside with lovely walks along the valley, over the hill and down to the river...great for dogs, particularly Spaniels! Cottage was cosy, well equipped and had its own little garden...we had a really sunny week!

Amazing cottage in an superb relaxing location. Nice touches and huge master bed. The log fireplace was incredible and the puppy greeters were the icing on the cake! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A beautiful cottage in a picturesque location. Perfectly private and secluded but only 3 miles from Abergavenny with countless walks straight from the door. So much to see and do in this area - this cottage is the perfect location for exploring this lovely part of Wales.

Faraway Cottage is in a tiny and fairly isolated hamlet, and is perfect for a quiet and relaxing break. There is plenty of walking in this beautiful part of the world, some of it flat, and some of it strenuous. The cottage itself is cosy and well-appointed, and a good size for four people. Highly recommended.
