Set on the edge of the castle grounds in the picturesque mountain town of Crickhowell, this great apartment is a fantastic base from which to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park and pretty Welsh market towns.

This first-floor apartment is set in a Georgian townhouse which forms part of the old castle grounds in Crickhowell. Inside the accommodation is bright and light, with a neutral colour scheme, brightened with fun accents throughout each room. The town has a Saturday market, butchers, shops, restaurants and pubs all within walking distance. Abergavenny with its castle, shops and restaurants, is just 10 minutes by car. Hay-on-Wye, famous for The Hay Festival, is just 30 minutes away. There is plenty of walking in the beautiful Brecon Beacons and The Black Mountains, many trails straight from the door or try a spot of fishing on the River Usk running just below the town. Golden Valley riding centre is just a couple of miles away for trekking in the hills, or try Triley Fields Equestrian for lessons and a cross country course. For more of a historical route venture towards the Golden Valley to explore several Norman ruins.

The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size and 1 double with additional single bed on request. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan with Smart TV, DVD and iPod Dock. Kitchen area, with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. 2 dogs welcome. Outside: regret no garden. Amenities: private gated off-road parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no smoking. Additional info: welcome pack of local produce on arrival. Location: pub and shops within walking distance Arrival: 4pm

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

SLEEPS 2 - 4: Two elegant bedrooms (one king size and one double), both with luxurious bedding. Family bathroom with bath, basin, loo and shower, towels and toiletteries included.

RELAXING: A bright and fresh open plan living space with cosy sofa, armchairs Smart TV, DVD, iPOD Dock and Wi-Fi all available.

DINING: Kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and all the pots, pans, plates etc you could possible need. Dining table large enough for at least six.

BOOTS, COATS & PARKING: Storage space for all your boots as you walk into the ground floor (a pushchair could be stored here too). Private off road parking in a gated area.

OTHER GOOD STUFF: Fully central heated. Books and Games, Cot & Highchair available.

PETS: 2 dogs welcome, however please note that there is no private outdoor space included with this first floor apartment.

Mortimer House is a must for people wanting to visit a traditional Welsh town with all local small businesses with amazing surroundings of the brecon becons. We absolutely loved the apartment, with everything you need for a truly homely feel. From the high spec to the comfortability of the furniture, the owner Natasha really has a eye for detail.
