The area is full of Norman castles and ancient abbeys such as the nearby Tintern Abbey, Raglan Castle, White Castle and Grosmont. There’s the Forest of Dean where you can explore not just ancient woods but nature reserves and deep caves, and the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains where you can enjoy mountain climbs, waterfalls and the River Wye.
