This romantic holiday cottage is set high up in the hills offering magnificent views. Inside it is warm and cosy, with a contemporary feel and a simple layout, making it very easy to feel at home and enjoy spreading out the maps and guidebooks to plan your weekend adventures.

Located high in the Black Mountains above the villages of Crickhowell and Llangattock (fabulous views approx 10 minute drive from the town of Crickhowell up a very steep country road - perfectly accessible for vehicles but may need to go into 1st gear in some parts!), with plenty of pubs and local coffee shops between them, there are plenty of water holes to quench your thirst after a day in the hills. In fact, Crickhowell was awarded '2018 High Street of the Year'! There is pony trekking and caving nearby too.  The famous book town of Hay-on-Wye is 30 minutes away, with international acclaim for its annual literary festival, there are independent second hand bookshops to browse.  Nearby attractions include Llangattock Escarpment which is well known for having some of the best caves in Europe, there are local guides available to help you explore.  Stroll along the lane to the Wern Riding Centre for a few hours in the saddle up on the hill.

This romantic bolthole for two is set on one level and offers an open-plan living space. Step into the dining area, which leads onto the comfortable lounge with soft furnishings where you can curl up and enjoy a film together on Sky TV, or simply relax with a hot cuppa. The Shaker-style kitchen is small yet perfectly formed - with everything you could need for your stay. Heading down the hallway you will find a contemporary style bathroom, with a lovely jacuzzi-style bath, power shower and WC. Further along you will find the king-size bedroom, an ideal space to retreat to at the end of the day with sumptuous bedding and fluffy towels supplied. Total bliss!

Outside you will find enclosed terrace with outdoor furniture, BBQ and mountain bike storage.

Cant fail to be impressed with the views of the surrounding area. However. There was no mention regarding the access to this property. Extremely challenging. Vertical hill climb with sharp blind 90 degree bends and very few passing places. It wasnt an enjoyable experience going up or down. High lanes overgrown. You need a 4x4 to attempt the access.Read more Approx 1 and a half miles of torture and then an off road experience that again was not mentioned on the advert Wont be going back Hide

This quaint little cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for a home from home experience. However the drive up to the property is not for the faint of heart or for those of us who own low level vehicles, 4x4's will be fine!. There are several very steep hills with hairpin bends on a narrow road on the way up towards the property and thRead moree driveway to the cottage itself is down a steep and very uneven track. Whilst we have enjoyed our break we would not return. Hide

Lovely comfortable cottage in a fabulously quiet location. Beautifully clean and well equipped with a very comfy bed! Fantastically positioned with walks from the door and access to many others. Loved Crickhowell. Would definitely recommend as long as you can live without internet and a good mobile reception. Not a problem for us.

This was a lovely cottage .. a real home from home experience . The approach to and from the cottage in the car is not for a nervous driver as it is a single track with blind bends with an extremely steep ratio. We had a lovely break .
