With heaps to explore in the surrounding area, the house is close toThe Mortimer Trail which runs through the Welsh Marches and many other gorgeous walks for all levels. Offa's Dyke, the natural border between England and Wales, is close by too. Hay-on-Wye is home to the internationally acclaimed Hay Festival at the end of May each year, and is easily reached from the property. Nearby Presteigne and Kington have thriving craft industries, and Hereford, with its beautiful Cathedral housing The Mappa Mundi, is also within easy reach. Nearby attractions include Croft Castle, which is worth a trip with a picnic has 1500 acres of woodland and parkland.
On the ground floor you will find a gorgeous sitting room with comfortable sofas and chairs, a wood burner (logs included) Sky TV, DVD and iPod Dock and a cosy snug/games room with wood burner (logs included) Sky TV and DVD. The fully equipped modern kitchen leads onto the dining room with open-fire. This room can also be closed off for celebrations and professional caterers. The kitchen has electric range oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and 2 dishwashers and there is a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. A double bedroom with en-suite shower room and separate WC is also located on this floor.
The first floor has 3 super-king-size zip-and-link beds (which can be made into twins on request) all three with en-suite facilities. One of these has a dressing room off and an additional single bed. There is also a twin room and a single room on this floor which share a family bathroom.
On the second floor there is 1 super-king-size bed (which can be a twin on request) and a quad bedroom (four singles).This floor shares a family bathroom.
Outside you will find incredibly spacious lawns, tables, chairs and an eating area on raised decking outside the kitchen, perfect for al fresco dining. There is a cleverly converted wood shack, complete with table, chairs and outside heating, for evenings staring up at the stars. There is also a large barn available as a play area with tennis area and table tennis.
The cosy and welcoming atmosphere makes Upper Farm perfect for a small group of friends or family as well as a larger group.
