Accessed via a chestnut tree lined drive, set back from the road lies this 17th century charming property. With original beams and set in private beautiful woodlands on a country estate with lovely fell views and.

Ideally placed just off the main road link through South Lake for convenient travel to enjoy all the National Park has to offer. Set in the Lake District National Park and just 10 minutes from Lake Windermere the location is ideal to explore the central and south lakes. The local Cartmel Priory and medieval village are worth a visit as is Grange over Sands an Edwardian seaside town with two miles of promenade and a wide variety of shops. Other activities to enjoy locally are The Lakeside & Haverthwaite Stream Railway for preserved steam railway trips to Lakeside on Windermere, Levens Hall and gardens, Beatrix Potter and Lakeland Motor Museum. Horse riding and hot air balloon trips are also available locally.

The accommodation offers FOUR bedrooms: 1 double with en-suite shower, 1 double and 2 singles. Bathroom: with bath and shower over the bath and WC. Separate WC. Shower room: with shower and WC, on the ground floor. Lounge/diner: open-plan with woodburner and TV/DVD. Kitchen/diner: with gas oven and hob, microwave and fridge. Utility room: with washing machine and freezer. Outside: patio area with garden seating, woodlands, pond and stream. Amenities: off-road parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and Wi-Fi included. 2 dogs welcome. Additional info: garden and stream is not fenced therefore please take care with children and dogs. Location: beach 10 miles, shop and pub within 1 mile (within walking distance by crossing main road at end of long farmhouse drive)

The Cottage was warm and cozy. We had a warm welcome from the owner. Its great for walking from the back door. Its only a short drive to the lakes. If you havent visited Grange over sands Its worth a visit it has a fantastic bakery. We will stay at the cottage again .

This is a great property for groups, family's or people with dogs (we were all). A little old fashioned perhaps, but that's the charm. We were worried about noise from the main road when we booked, however it is not a problem. Perfect location to launch into the lakes each day. Lovely owners, and even came with eggs from their chickens!

Absolutely lovely cottage, equipped with everything you need. Very friendly owner to greet you on arrival. Lots of space for our dogs and nice utility to sort them out in the rain. Cosy fire with as much wood as you need. We would definitely like to return.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. Chris (owner) is a very pleasant chap and extremely helpful and appears in a jiffy if a problem occurred. All the beds were very comfy and the showers were excellent. Traditional cottage in a lovely area, perfect for accessing the southern Lakes. The property is very close to the dual carriageway, noise not an issue inside but may impact on the use of the outside areas in nice weather. The cottage is warm and clean with modern kitchen containing everything we needed. The shower rooms could do with an update, as Read morecould the carpets but it is a dog friendly cottage. The owner was ultra helpful, rescuing us when we couldnt find the cottage. Would stay again. Hide

We had a fabulous week and found the farmhouse to be the perfect relaxing accommodation after walks day trips out. Well equipped, spacious and homely - loves the wood burner and the fresh farm eggs were a bonus!

Gorgeous cottage and very quiet. You cant walk straight out from the cottage location, you need to drive out due to duel carriage way but this is down a really long track so you cant see or hear any traffic. Very peaceful. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect for what we were looking for in a week away from the city with our pup. Excellent location for accessing lakes Windemere, Coniston, Ullswater, and Buttermere. Only downside for some is that there is a pub within walking distance, but it isn't really acessible by foot as you would have to cross a dual carriageway with no pavement.
