Warm and welcoming converted barn with original features, enjoying a rural hillside location. Situated on the north west edge of Peak District, within a mile of the main amenities at Whaley Bridge.

Whaley Bridge, or the Gateway to the Goyt Valley, is an attractive small town located on the edge of the Peak District National Park. At the head of the Peak Forest Canal, the area boasts pretty walks and cycle paths along the water towards Bridgemount and Buxworth. There is also an array of pubs, restaurants and cafes to choose from so you can stock up for your stay.

A gallery hall welcomes you into the property, from which a flight of stairs leads you to the first floor. To your right is the inviting sitting room, featuring wooden floors, exposed beams and stonework, warm tones and a large picture window taking in the beautiful view. Also on this floor are two of the bedrooms, one with an impressive four poster double bed and interesting exposed stone wall, the other with twin beds. These rooms share a shower room with colourful mosaic tiles.

Downstairs you will find the spacious kitchen, which features a farmhouse style dresser, large dining table, tiled floor and all the essentials you should need for your stay. The kitchen also benefits from a door leading outside, while the separate dining room next door is perfect for evening meals. Two further bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with twin beds, plus a second bathroom, complete this floor.

Outside, the shared patio area enjoys sunshine for most of the day and has a secure pretty ornamental pond – the perfect spot to enjoy an al fresco drink. If you're travelling in a large group, why not book both cottages to accommodate 16 people in total?

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Beautiful homely cottage . Ideally situated for walking and village which have facilities and pubs. Every comfort provided , well equipped . Family run set on owners farm . Extremely friendly lovely people . Colin the son invited the grandchildren to look around the farm at any time . Although the owners are on site we saw very little of them unlesRead mores we needed them and when we did they were only too happy to help and did so quickly and with great enthusiasm. Hide

The cottage was beautifully decorated; our family particularly loved the Christmas decorations which were a lovely touch. Would gladly recommend.

Brilliant property that forms a pair of cottages on the outskirts of Whaley Bridge. The welcome was warm (literally - the cottage owners turned the heating on for our arrival), and the building itself is cosy. It's the perfect size for eight people in a shared space. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the facilities were very good. The bedrooms werRead moree a good size too. The views are great, and there are walking routes nearby. Access to the village is good, though I'd recommend arriving by car. Hide

Very comfortable and clean property. Location perfect for exploring local area with one of the best views walking distance just up the road (Eccles Pike). Fantastic, atmospheric pub in Chinley, a short drive away.
