An enchanting property nestled amidst the natural beauty of the Peak District National Park. The Irishman’s is a wonderful place from which to enjoy the many attractions of this beautiful area.

Situated in the grounds of the owner’s property, the cottage is a romantic idyll of calm and tranquillity in the outstanding beauty of the Peak District. The cottage is a short drive from the pretty village of Castelton, and nearby groceries are available at Chapel en le Frith which is just two miles away. The challenging walking trails of the Pennine Way await for keen walkers, or for those who prefer a more relaxing stay, sit and enjoy the wildlife that surrounds the cottage. The historical spa town of Buxton is nearby and great for an evening of culture at the opera house or strolling along the Georgian Crescent.

The bedroom, located on the ground floor of the cottage is full of character from the stone floors and oak beam ceilings. The bedroom contains a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower cubicle, hand basin and toilet. Steps lead into the bright, open plan living space. The kitchen is well equipped with all the essentials that guests require during their stay. The lounge area has a wood burning stove which provides an inviting ambience to the space and a vaulted ceiling gives height and charm. A large glazed panel door leads out to the patio with garden furniture. The seating area enjoys afternoon and evening sunshine, making it an ideal space for sitting out and listening to the evening chorus of the surrounding wildlife.

The switches. Each said Do not touch! The patio table outside was unusable as it was filthy as were the windows which appeared not to have been cleaned in some time. Outside our door was a pile of recycling which remained there during our stay. There was no information at all in the property to advise about recycling, so we had to guess what to do.Read more Being as the cottage took 2 dogs I would suggest the garden area is fenced off. Apart from that the location was stunning it just needs a bit of TLC Hide

We had a lovely short break in Irishman'. It is a very cosy cottage and the location is excellent and we liked the horses nearby . Good location for exploring the High Peak area including nearby Buxton and Castleton.

Having had 3 previous holidays cancelled due to Covid, we were so looking forward to a break! The location was perfect, lovely walks on the cottage door step. The only noises we could hear were the horses! Heaven! we came back home relaxed and rested. Thank you :)
