With the River Wye running through the market town, there are plenty of peaceful walks to enjoy in the area. The Peak District has so much to offer for young and old to enjoy. Chatsworth House and Gardens are known as the jewel in the crown for the area and don’t forget to stop at the famous Chatsworth Farm Shop for supplies. There is also Haddon Hall a short drive away, which oozes history. The Tissington Trail, Monsal Trail, and High Peak trail are fantastic terrain for bikes, being disused railways.

Step into the warm and cosy lounge in this cottage. The sofas provide the perfect place to put your feet up after a day hiking the hills, so light the wood burner and pop something on the Smart TV/DVD. The imposing original fireplace gives a nod to the history of the cottage. Head through to the kitchen which offers everything you need if you decide to stay home and cook a hearty meal such as an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, and microwave. The nearby dining table is perfect for lazy breakfasts while planning the day's activities ahead. Upstairs the double bedroom is full of surprises such as a high ceiling, exposed stone wall and original beams with pretty views over Bakewell and beyond. The single room is known as the duckling's room, great for little ones to get a good nights rest, there is also a Playstation for youngsters to enjoy too. Bring your bubble bath and enjoy a soak in the bathtub, or make use of the shower over bath, the choice is yours.

Loved our stay in this cosy little cottage. It's very well maintained and equipped; right in the heart of Bakewell. I enjoyed looking out to the church and hearing it's bells. Lots to do within a short distance, including the monsal trail, pubs, shops, and bakewell puddings on tap!

A great cottage, in a perfect position, for exploring Bakewell and other areas in the Peak District. The local buses are great for visiting other villages, with only an hours bus ride to Chatsworth. Also great for local walks I would definitely recommend this cottage. We had a fab time. Thank you

A really lovely cottage tucked away just behind the main street in Bakewell. Despite the proximity to the centre it was incredibly quiet. We always found a parking space not too far away and were able to park at the door while we loaded and unloaded. The cottage itself is beautifully designed, cosily warm with very responsive heating. A lovely comfy cottage in a great position. It had everything we needed and plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. We parked up the hill which was easy and fine. We could also briefly stop outside to load and unload luggage which wasnt a problem. Lots of walks from the doorstep and plenty of places to eat out.

Perfect location for enjoying Bakewells pretty shops and riverside walks. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well presented. Being an old cottage the living room is a little dark, but there is a log burner for cooler evenings and the bedrooms and kitchen were bright and cheery. The front door opens onto a quiet street. A comfortable and cosy cottage in a fantastic location with lots of amenities close by. The kitchen was well-equipped and we felt the space was well-thought out. Parking could be tricky (as advertised!) but we didn't need to use the car unless we were heading elsewhere for the day and it was never more than a few minutes away. The view onto the chuRead morerch was lovely and we enjoyed the church bells too! Hide

Chalice cottage is a lovely property. Its a shame there isnt space to sit outside but its location makes up for that being two minutes walk from Bakewell centre and the riverside. We found the property spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a very pleasant vacation.

We had a fantastic week at Chalice Cottage. It's in a brilliant location, in the centre of Bakewell but tucked down a quiet lane, and is very well equipped. We really enjoyed using the log burner - the lounge felt so warm and cosy during the dark winter evenings that we didn't want to go out!
