The quiet position of the cottage on the upper slopes of Eccles Pike gives it the most outstanding views. In one direction guests can see across the beautiful Blackwater Valley and Combs Reservoir beyond, while in another lies the Goyt Valley, waiting to be explored. Lovers of the outdoors won't be disappointed by the number of enjoyable walks nearby and breath-taking views.

The two bedroom 18th Century eco-barn has retained many of its original features including exposed oak beams and original stone walls. The barn benefits from an innovative environmental design with numerous features throughout including an original gritstone roof, British sheep's wool insulation and eco-friendly paints and wood finishes have been used throughout the property. All heating and hot water is provided from a carbon neutral wood pellet stove in the lounge.

An oak staircase leads to the first floor which has under floor heating and elegant Welsh slate flooring. An open plan kitchen is fully equipped and has beautiful exposed beams and stone walls. The spacious lounge-dining area leads out onto a kitchen garden and private sun terrace with a variety of organic herbs, fruits and vegetables which are available in season for you to pick, for an additional fee local food hampers can be arranged. The garden offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside including the grounds of the property which are home to the owner's Alpacas and chickens.

So many extras included such as fresh fruit, cakes and eggs. Shampoo in bathroom. Nothing missing.

A superbly equipped cottage, probably the best we've ever stayed in. The cottage always felt warm and welcoming, despite the weather. Liz and Andrew were perfect hosts, always available, but never intrusive.

A delightful cottage with wonderful views from the patio. The cottage is so tastefully furnished & we have never rented a place which has so much provided. Lots of little extras. The owners are friendly, but not intrusive. The cottage is on a hill (hence the lovely view) & the area is hilly so, if walking is a problem, you would definitely need a cRead morear to get around. We enjoyed the walking. Pubs serving food are about a mile & half away. Hide

A beautiful, clean, well equipped cottage in a fantastic location for exploring the area. The views down the valley are beautiful. The hosts think of many home comforts to make it a stress free stay. Would highly recommend this cottage.
