Located in a secluded countryside position with stunning views and enjoyable walks making this property perfect for those looking to get away from it all or explore the many attractions the Peak District has to offer.

The quiet position of the cottage on the upper slopes of Eccles Pike gives it the most outstanding views. In one direction guests can see across the beautiful Blackwater Valley and Combs Reservoir beyond, while in another lies the Goyt Valley, waiting to be explored. Lovers of the outdoors won't be disappointed by the number of enjoyable walks nearby and breath-taking views. 

The two bedroom 18th Century eco-barn has retained many of its original features including exposed oak beams and original stone walls. The barn benefits from an innovative environmental design with numerous features throughout including an original gritstone roof, British sheep's wool insulation and eco-friendly paints and wood finishes have been used throughout the property. All heating and hot water is provided from a carbon neutral wood pellet stove in the lounge.

An oak staircase leads to the first floor which has under floor heating and elegant Welsh slate flooring. An open plan kitchen is fully equipped and has beautiful exposed beams and stone walls. The spacious lounge-dining area leads out onto a kitchen garden and private sun terrace with a variety of organic herbs, fruits and vegetables which are available in season for you to pick, for an additional fee local food hampers can be arranged. The garden offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside including the grounds of the property which are home to the owner's Alpacas, chickens and bees.

The two bedrooms are reached via the entrance hall, both have impressive vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and en-suite shower rooms. The spacious main bedroom has a king-size bed, and the second room has two singles.

This barn is brimming with character and offers the ultimate rural retreats for those seeking spectacular scenery at every turn.

We had a wonderful stay in this cottage The owners ,Liz and Andrew, had most thoughtfully and generously supplied many "extras". There was an abundance of food gifts to welcome us. Everything worked well. Mobile signal can be weak but generally had a least one bar. The cottage was perfectly clean and well equipped and the owners were very friendly and helpful without being remotely intrusive during our stay. A particular mention must be made of the cake and other home made produce on arrival - having stayed in many holiday cottages over the years this always makes a lovely first impression. We loved the cottage, it was very well equipped. The outside area was lovely with the flowers and fruit bushes and we enjoyed watching the alpacas. Scenery was beautiful and it was very quiet.

A beautiful, comfortable, well-equipped property in a great location! We found that not only did this property offer great views but it also allowed easy access to most of the Peak District and Cheshire. The surrounding villages have loads of places to eat out and there are lots of walks right there. This was the best equipped cottage we ever rented. Everything was perfect. The view from the terrace was impressive. The hosts Liz and Andrew are wonderful ! To reach the cottage youll have to take a small road with practically no traffic but with a steep slope.

Barn meadow is a beautifully converted barn equipped with everything you need. We had welcome treats from Liz including eggs from their hens and homemade cake. We slept very well and enjoyed the beautiful location. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A beautiful roomy cottage with lovely helpful owners. They were not in your face but available whenever help was required. The location was perfect for good Peak District walking and ease of access to Whaley Bridge supermarkets and take always etc. Unfortunately, we werent allowed to bring the alpacas home with us. Thanks for a great break.
