This cosy yet spacious cottage has an open-plan layout and stylish design. It is located within easy walking distance of the local shop and pub and is a short drive away from the spa town of Buxton.

This comfortable cottage is in a rural position on a main road in the Peak District National Park, yet is just 100 yards from the village shop and a short walk to the local pub, and excellent footpaths. With the Dove, Manifold and Goyt valleys all on its doorstep, guests will be hard pressed to tire of the local area and its spectacular scenery. The whole cottage enjoys far reaching views across the surrounding hills and valleys Historic Chatsworth, Bakewell, Alton Towers and Matlock Bath are just some of the popular destinations which are in easy reach of the property.

Steps lead into the cottage which take you into a comfortable contemporary open plan layout, making it a sociable space that’s perfect for entertaining and relaxing. The kitchen has stylish slate flooring, granite worktops and timber units, with spotlighting and a small breakfast bar. Just beyond is the dining table for four and to the other side of this is the large sitting area. With solid oak flooring, electric effect log burning stove, two comfortable sofas and armchairs, this is the perfect space in which to relax after a long day of walking or sightseeing.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has a double bed, stylish white furniture and views to the rear of the cottage. The second bedroom has two single beds, ideal for children or adults, a wardrobe with draws and looks out over the front. The rooms share a family bathroom with shower over bath and useful heated towel rail.  Outside there is a garden to the front that enjoys the far reaching views and also an enclosed backyard.

 

 

 

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely cottage, feeling very private. Bench in the front garden was useful on the days we had good weather, as the scenery was beautiful. Owner left us a 'welcome' card and a bottle of wine and the kitchen and bathroom were well- equipped with cleaning products, tea, coffee and sugar. Great location for visiting the gorgeous Derbyshire Peaks and DaRead moreles and places in Staffs too. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Hide

A super cosy cottage perfect for us (two adults and our dog) for two nights. Very clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we (three!) needed. Location is very remote so visiting in depths of winter would be a challenge. Our visit in late April coincided with a spell of warm sunny weather which made the far reaching views from all windows evRead moreen more stunning. Plenty of great walks within short driving distance and enjoyed alfresco lunch at the Three Horseshoes Inn just outside Leek. Hide

The cottage was lovely, very comfortable and had everything we needed. It worked well for us with the dogs, and although the closeness to the main road was a bit of a concern, it was easily manageable. Having the little front garden was great to sit in and the views are spectacular!

Cottage was situated in a very remote area, right off the main road. It was a quiet and beautiful location with a great view of the surrounding hills. Located close to Buxton and many other key locations with plenty of pubs, walks, etc. Andrew (home owner) was lovely and was always available for any questions we had. The cottage is located on a busy road, however you do not hear the road noise. Ideal location to travel to places of interest. Buxton a short drive away provides everything you could want. The local pub is not open, the one a short walk away the New Inn I would not reccomend. Plenty of walks from the doorstep, if you want to stay close by. The cottRead moreage provides all you need as a base to explore the beautiful Peak district. The garden is not dog secure which is a shame. Hide

Not a good place if you want to go with kids or dogs. Location is only ok if you have a car to get into buxton, too far to walk. The pub across the road has closed down. The cottage isn't clean or welcoming.

Great location for getting out and about. Cottage comfortable and well equipped. One small thing, if you take a dog you cannot let it out as there is no secure garden and a very busy main road, space bit you need to take the dog out on a lead, other than this really lovely.

The cottage doesn't look exceptional from the out side but once you step inside its a little goldmine. There's everything you need in this cottage (apart from a clothes hook on the bathroom door) even had Salt and Pepper,lemon squeezer,knives,cleaning products,wash up liquid,toilet paper,new rubber gloves, bin bags, dog bowls , the list of things iRead moren the cottage is endless. This cottage really isnt suitable for dogs, its near a dangerous road with very fast traffic. We felt we couldnt stay here more than one night, it was too risky for our dogs. Please read all reviews- 50% of people staying say this too.

There was a lovely bottle of wine left to greet us on arrival and a bowl of water down for the dogs. There's a small secure area out the back for the dogs to go in but there isn't much of a view from there I'm afraid. We found the location was perfect for what we wanted which were some lovely dog walks on the trails and paths around Buxton. We had Read morea couple of boiler issues and when we contacted the owner he couldn't have been any more helpful and arranged for an engineer very quickly. Hide

garden not suitable for dogs or children. Excellent views and very close to Buxton. We wouldn't go again purely because garden not safe and secure. Otherwise we would for views and location.

Cosy cottage just off the main road, with own car park space. Is an end terrace. Very warm and well-maintained and very clean. Good location for driving to Tissington Trail and other walks.

A well-equipped homely cottage in a beautiful location in easy reach of many Peak District attractions including walking distance to Three Shires Bridge. The only down-side was the lack of local amenities of a good standard. Nevertheless, a stay in this cottage is very good value.

Definitely not dog friendly. Very limited access, both pedestrian & vehicular. Definitely not suitable for families with small children or any mobility issues.

The cottage is lovely and has everything you need, the only thing I would say is if you have a dog or children the front garden isn't fenced off and it is on a very busy road.
