Set on a hillside with views across the valley towards Crich, this delightful detached bungalow is a great choice for those looking for one level accommodation with spacious grounds. The nearby former canal and woodlands form a pleasant backdrop to this property which is easily accessed by road and the nearby railway station of Ambergate. Please note the canal at Sawmills is currently dry as it is under going restoration.

Up a few steps from the driveway guests enter the property and find themselves in the kitchen which is fully equipped with all the essentials. A door leads off to the rest of the property and the lounge-dining room with an excellent gas coal effect fire creating a wonderful ambience on cold evenings.

The property has two spacious, light bedrooms; one with a double bed and the other with two single beds and lovely views from a large window. There is also a bathroom with bath, shower-over, toilet and hand basin. Outside there are spacious grounds for guests enjoyment, and a patio garden for sitting and taking in the views of this lovely location.

This bungalow was really good value for money, we had a lovely and comfortable stay. On a hot week the bungalow stayed lovely and cool and the patio was lovely to sit out on and enjoy the surrounding trees. As mentioned in a number of other reviews the driveway is rather narrow and did require a 5 point turn to get out but we do have an estate car Read moreand i wouldn't let this put you off. The cottage is lovely and clean. It is well stocked with towels, paper towels, loo rolls and pot towels. Very unusual for a holiday let. The owners have clearly put in a lot of thought to make it a great place to stay. Its well situated for long walks, Sainsbury's and Tesco close by. Comfy beds and plenty of space.

So clean and comfy! The cottage is beautifully presented and the owners have thought of everything that one could possibly need. The area is full to the brim with interesting things to do and see. The grounds are spacious, delightful to relax in and extremely private. "Canal Side" was a real treat and will be a highlight of my trip that I will remeRead morember fondly. Lovely cottage, well equipped, clean and welcoming. If anyone looking for a bungalow for someone with limited mobility you might want to give this one a miss though. The steps are steep and not easy. Difficult to charge mobility scooter , parking is a distance from the car and placing it close to bungalow for charging is not an option due to steps.Read more Other reviews have mentioned car turning issues, I have a Peugeot Rifter: needed a bit of maneuvering but perfectly possible. Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, in a quiet location. The owners have considered everything, and there was everything we needed. Although access is a little tight, we had no problem getting our 7 seater car in and out, and turning around. We would definitely book this cottage again if holidaying in Derbyshire.
