Situated in the quaint hamlet of Emery Down, this is a great base for exploring, walking and cycling. There are picturesque walks directly from the cottage, perfect for discovering the New Forest byways and you’ll find a footpath at the end of the lane to Lyndhurst village. Approximately a 30 minute walk away or five minute drive, Lyndhurst has a small supermarket, cafes, restaurants and other small shops. A short drive away you will find a wealth of attractions such as golf courses at Lyndhurst and Bramshaw, horse riding at Ford Farm Stable in Brockenhurst, and The Motor Museum in Beaulieu. If you fancy venturing slightly further afield, the large town of Bournemouth is around a forty minute drive away or spend the day at Lymington, approximately a 25 minutes’ drive, where you can catch a ferry to the Isle of Wight or meander along the historic cobbled quay. For a glass of wine or a refreshing local ale after a busy day exploring, the New Forest Inn in Emery Down is a few moments stroll from the cottage.

This romantic self-catering cottage in the New Forest has traditional features and modern facilities adding to the idyllic and peaceful nature of the property. The bright open plan ground floor living area is complete with oak floors and wood burning stove, perfect for a cosy night in. The inviting farmhouse kitchen is equipped with all the essentials for a self-catering break with a dining table and stable door that leads to the garden. Upstairs is one bedroom with a double bed and one bathroom with a large shower and WC.

Outside there is a fully enclosed back garden with valley views, patio with furniture for al fresco dining and bike storage.

Clares cottage is small but has a wonderful feel about it, very homely and has everything you would need from a kitchen, the tv was a good size and sofa and bed. Ponies and donkeys passing by and some great pubs within walking distance Lots to see and do around the area, and easy to find

A lovely, cosy cottage that has everything you could possibly wish for including for the dogs. The enclosed garden is great, even for 2 little King Charles cavaliers. The location is great with 2 pubs within walking distance and plenty of places to visit.

This cottage was found spotlessly clean and fully equipped (both a concern and you never know till you arrive). Excellent location. Conveniently close to three pub restaurants all dog friendly. Lovely New Forest walks. Lyndhurst 10 minutes away. Traffic jams daily but it was Aug bank holiday! Nice small enclosed garden. On road parking outside fronRead moret door. Ponies visited us daily. Lovely cosy cottage. Well equipped with a fabulous kitchen. Had everything we could possibly need. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We loved the village of Emery Down, 15 minutes walk to Lyndhurst, plenty of pubs close by. How nice it was to sit in the living room and hear the ponies clip clop by the window to the forest. Cosy, compact, cottage, in peaceful hamlet. Very happy with the cottage , comfortable and well equipped kitchen. Perfect location, 2 dog friendly pubs short walk away . Easy walk into Lyndhurst, especially the back way to avoid main road, directions supplied in the cottage information binder . A lovely, well equipped small cottage in a quiet hamlet. The New Forest Inn is about 200m down the road is a very pleasant pub serving good food or just a drink. We were impressed by the friendly speedy service. At Brockenhurst Station , 5 miles away, there are frequent trains to Bournemouth, Winchester and Southampton. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Clares and would definitely stay again. The cottage is ideally placed for walks straight from the door and The New Forest Inn which is less than 5 minutes walk from the cottage is fantastic both for food and drink and is extremely dog friendly. We had a great stay at the cottage, it was a brilliant location for exploring the area. The New Forest Inn was amazing, we ate there a lot and found the food excellent and the staff were really friendly. We had a very cold week, but the cottage was extremely warm. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Perfect location for two adults and their two hounds. A lot of thought has obviously gone into comfort for all and anyone bringing dogs. We take our own throws for all furniture, dog bowls etc but all this is provided. The garden is secure and the house is straight out onto a quiet lane. Clares cottage was absolutely perfect for us and we loved its quirky style which elevated it from the run of the mill. But its also well thought out so it works well too. Perfectly located if you have a dog with a Forestry Commission footpath just at the end of the road as well as being surrounded by open land. The perfect little cottage. My daughter and I could not fault this little gem. Location excellent for walking to 3 pubs, plus Lyndhurst within a half hour walk and dog walks on the doorstep. Ideal for our dog, easy side access to the garden and a hose for the muddy days. Cosy, warm, log burner and all you need for a perfect week.

The owners thought of pretty much everything and the accommodation was presented in excellent order. Perfect for a few days in The New Forest with the ideal enclosed garden for the hound. The nearby pub is very good with a varied menu and great service.

This is a lovely cosy, comfortable cottage, well equipped and with an enclosed garden perfect for our dog. Its in a great location for nearby pubs and walks, and in a central position for exploring the whole New Forest area.
