Lodge sleeping eight set amongst 8 acres of fields and farmland in the Somerset countryside, on the edge of the village of Moorlinch.

This luxurious lodge is set amongst 8 acres of fields and farmland, situated on the edge of the village of Moorlinch with far reaching views over the RSPB nature reserve and land of Special Scientific Interest on the Somerset Levels. On a clear day you can see for miles around. Moorlinch has a 12th century church as well as a family pub serving good food. You will be well placed to explore the area including Glastonbury with its Tor and Abbey, Clarks retail village and Greenbank heated outdoor pool in Street, Cheddar Gorge and the Cathedral City of Wells. There are many National Trust properties in the locality or you can enjoy a walk over the Quantock Hills; all this within an hours drive. A little further out lie the historic city of Bath and Exmoor National Park. There are several coastal beaches to the north and south, such as Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Burnham-On-Sea. During November why not visit the popular Glastonbury Frost Fayre or one of the carnivals held in Bridgwater, North Petherton and Glastonbury.

Upon entering this wonderful property you will be greeted by a light and welcoming hallway that follows into the main lounge/kitchen/dining area that is the true heart of this property. The lounge area offers a TV with surround-sound and an iPod docking station, there is a large dining table for family meals. In the well-equipped kitchen you will find an induction hob, double oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and many other useful extras. Care and attention has been paid to ensure a truly comfortable stay. From this open-plan family area you can go out of the doors onto the patio and deck areas to enjoy al fresco dining and watch the sunset. On the ground floor are two beautifully finished double bedrooms both with patio doors leading out onto the covered decked walk-way around the lodge, where you can sit and relax. There is also a family-sized bathroom with shower over the bath and WC. Heading up the stairs you will find the master bedroom of the house which is a real treat and an ideal family room. It is a large double room but also has cot facilities for young guests. There is a flatscreen TV/DVD and access to the covered balcony with seating offering far-reaching views across the Somerset Levels. There is a twin room and a spacious shower room with large walk in double shower.

Heading outside there is a lawned area for young guests to enjoy playing on and an enclosed patio area with BBQ and seating perfect for dining or enjoying a glass of wine after a long day out. Swing ball and Badminton available too. There is ample parking to the side of the lodge.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a lovely stay at Sharpendon, despite the weather. One afternoon we all sat in the covered balcony upstairs and watched the thunder and lightning, it made for amazing viewing. Great location for a relaxing holiday, however also close to some superb locations for walking and sightseeing. The Lodge has plenty of room for 4-6 adults and is very well equipped. We all felt the setting really helped us all relax and enjoy the setting. House is lovely with fantastic views over the countryside. There are a few niggles with the house, which just needs a little bit of attention. No blinds or curtains in the main bedroom upstairs is offputting and sometimes needs to be done not all for privacy / decency but also to keep light out. Sharpenton Lodge certainly lived up to expectations. It was spotlessly clean on arrival, including all utensils. It is very well equipped with mixers, slow cookers and an array of cutlery and crockery. The beds are very comfortable and the showers powerful, with plenty of hot water. Fantastic stay and amazing views. Lodge was exactly what we needed for a family holiday for a special birthday. Can recommend the local pub in Moorlinch for a hearty Sunday lunch as well.

If you want an escape from life this is the perfect location and lodge. Would say it is ideal for a two couples or a small family. The kitchen was well equipped and open planned so you can still be sociable whilst cooking. All bedrooms were perfect sizes and lovely having a bathroom upstairs and down. With 4 adults and a toddler the property was fine but would have been a squeeze with 8 adults. The master bedroom does not have blinds so expect to wake early. Overall the property is very good and in a lovely quiet location with wonderful views.

When we arrived we were stunned at the beautiful surroundings that the house stood on. The house itself was beautiful, and fully equipped with everything you could need. Shops were only about 15_20 minutes away,and a lovely pub down the road 5 minutes away. The scenery was a winner,and the kids loved the sheep in the field next to the house. After being in lock down for 3 months we wanted to get away from it all, and have a complete change of scenery. Sharpenton Lodge was just what we needed - 3 adults and 2 children under 7. We stayed at this property over the new year and had a fantastic week. The house is clean and accommodated 8 of us well. The kitchen was very well equipped and both bathrooms had great showers. The kids loved playing in the adjoining field and we did a couple of walks through the village and to the local pub (which is really friendly). The house owRead morener, Audrey, is lovely.
