Property code: OLDMD

One of three beautiful barn conversions surrounded in over 100 acres of farmland, this charming property is just a mile from Portreath and the stunning beaches of North Cornwall.

Set within a peaceful courtyard setting, surrounded by 130 acres where cows and sheep quietly reside, this property sits between the two tranquil villages of Tehidy and Park Bottom. Portreath, with its gorgeous beach, is also under two miles away, and here you can also find shops, restaurants and pubs. From here you can continue to explore the stunning coastline of North Cornwall, including surfing beaches, sheltered coves and the South West Coast Path. The larger towns of Redruth and Camborne are also close by if you are looking for a wider choice of shops and places to eat. This cottage is ideal for a walking holiday as it directly connects to a network of footpaths which lead to Tehidy Country Park and the South West Coast Path – here there is a lake, golf course and café.

The property is a one-storey barn, retaining many original features, and consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom, a lounge and a kitchen/diner. There is one king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and WC, as well as a zip-and-link twin bedroom, which can be made into a double on request. The family-size bathroom contains a shower over bath and WC. In the lounge guests will find ample seating as well as a TV/DVD and cosy wood burner; the first basket of logs for this is also included with your stay. The well-equipped kitchen contains a family-sized dining area electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, electric and central heating are all included.

From the lounge, French doors open out onto the large enclosed lawn garden. Enjoying south-facing views, the garden also features a patio, garden furniture and a BBQ. Guests are also free to explore the surrounding farmland. Ample off-road parking is provided. A well-kept footpath can be reached directly from the cottage, leading to a larger network of footpaths as Tehidy Country Park.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This cottage and garden are perfect and in the perfect location for getting about - Portreath beach is five minutes in the car and Tehidy country park is a short walk away via the footpath. We are only sorry that it won't be available next year.

After having to transfer our booking until the same week this year due to the Corona virus at last we have been lucky enough to have our holiday the only blot on the landscape was the weather. However the cottage was so well equipped and cosy we were very comfortable and between the showers were able to take our dogs to the surrounding area. Had thRead moree weather been glorious we would have been able to sit in the garden but even so appreciated the peace and quiet in such a beautiful setting. Hide

Lovely owners who were really helpful. The cottage was everything wed hoped for over the Christmas period, quiet, cosy and relaxing. Stunning beaches close by and a footpath directly from the property leading to a country park. Dont forget to take nuts with you to the country park as the squirrels will eat them from your hand.

Lovely cottage as always, big enough to relax in, close to great locations and fantastic beaches. Looking to book again. Thank you to the owners for making the cottages clean and safe at this difficult time due to covid 19. We did miss the lovely french hen eggs on arrival.

Nice quiet location yet close enough to main A30 giving good access to nearby coves. Well maintained throughout and home from home feeling to allow you to relax. Whilst you need your car for all the beaches, cliff top walks and pubs you can walk to the nearby County Park across the fields

We have stayed in a number of places in Cornwall and this has to be one of the best locations. Close to big Tesco and with easy access to the A30 but not with lots of passing traffic so quiet. Local beaches are great. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are a good size. Would stay in the same place without hesitation.

2nd time we have stayed at this cottage, this time we were with our daughter and son in law and their 12 week old daughter we also had 2 dogs with us. There was plenty of room for us all and a large garden for the dogs. There was a lovely welcome pack and flowers as well. We all had a lovely holiday and would happily stay here again
