Property code: BT002

Located on a cobbled street in the heart of historic Rye, this charming cottage has been decorated to both reflect its fascinating history and offer contemporary conveniences and comfort for all its guests.

Situated just steps from Rye’s bustling high street, guests can reach the many quaint and celebrated restaurants, cafes and shops that this popular East Sussex town has to offer. Beach goers will enjoy a long stroll along Camber Sands, among other seaside locations, while those looking to soak up a bit of local culture should head to Rye Castle Museum for its impressive collection of paintings and displays.

Step off the cobbled street and straight into a small beamed hallway, which leads into the lounge/dining room. With a large inglenook fireplace with woodburner as its focal point, this room also has a three-seater sofa and good-sized dining table overlooking the street through a large sash window and has been decorated in calming neutral tones. Next door, the kitchen has been tastefully fitted with shaker-style units with wooden worktops and white metro splash back tiles. With plenty of light through the large sash window, guests can enjoy preparing meals using the electric oven, gas hob or microwave, the kitchen also has a fridge/freezer, toaster and dishwasher and the property has a washing machine and tumble dryer in a separate passageway. While most meals will be enjoyed in the lounge/dining room, a small foldaway table offers a convenient spot to enjoy a morning coffee. The bathroom has been fitted with fixtures with plenty of warmth travelling up from underfloor heating beneath the stone tiles. The shower is located in a wet room area, which has been decorated with pretty mosaic tiles, creating a fresh and contemporary feel. Upstairs the master bedroom has a king-size bed, exposed beams and plenty of storage space. The second bedroom has bunk beds as well as having an additional single bed available (please note that while this third bed is set up there is limited space around the beds), while younger children can sleep in the open closet area of the master bedroom, which has a raised three-foot bed complete with cot side for safety.

Please note there is a refundable £300 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

The cottage info, particularly re shopping and parking is very out of date. 5. A light above the stove would be useful.
