Lovingly refurbished, this picturesque cottage boasts light and airy accommodation mixed with traditional charm, the perfect rural getaway for friends and couples, with coastal resorts and surrounding countryside both within easy reach.

Also worth a visit are the fascinating and beautifully restored steam water pumps, The Giants of Brede. Keen walkers will enjoy exploring the many footpaths that cris cross the High Weald AONB and for those looking to explore slightly further afield, the towns of Hastings and Rye are both a five-mile drive and have much to offer visitors, from the host of quirky independent shops in Rye to the beachfront and fresh fish stalls in Hastings.

As soon as you arrive at this picket-fenced cottage you will feel as if you have arrived in the heart of the countryside. As you enter this cosy cottage the lounge can be found to the right of the front door. This room is comfortably furnished with two sofas collected around the inglenook fireplace with open-fire, as well as the Smart TV, Netflix and DVD for quiet nights in. Continue to the kitchen, where the low beam ceiling means it has retained much of its original charm whilst offering everything the cook needs, including electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The dining table is here too with comfortable seating for four. The backdoor opens out from the kitchen onto an enclosed courtyard. The main bathroom is located on the ground floor, with hand-held shower over bath and WC. Narrow steep stairs lead to the first floor where there are two bedrooms: a double and a twin, that complete the cottage.

Outside there is a typical cottage-style courtyard garden, which has a picnic table for al fresco meals and a BBQ for guests’ use. The back gate gives access to the village and there is roadside parking across the road from the cottage on the village green.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A lovely old cottage with plenty of character. It does have low ceilings so anyone over 5ft 10in would bump their head but this is to be expected in an old cottage. Very clean well maintained property. The location is ideal for exploring the area. The limitations are poor shower facilities and door frame high very awkward for those of average height. Stress free parking depending on the compliance of the local pub to use their car park. ( they are very friendly )

Clare Cottage is a cosy characterful place to stay in an ideal setting opposite a small green and church. Very well placed to visit all the surrounding areas. The courtyard garden was a relaxing area to sit with a glass of wine in the evening. Very clean, very well managed.

Lovely cottage, comfortable has everything you need. A great base to explore the area from as there are many places near by to visit. Just note that the ceilings are very low not great for those of us who are tall ! Cottage is also on a busy main road.
