Situated in the heart of historic Robertsbridge village surrounded by 1066 countryside, this property is just a stroll away from the village cricket ground, the perfect way to while away a Saturday afternoon during the summer. Robertsbridge also boasts many timber-framed houses, the ruins of a former Cistercian abbey and a church mentioned in the Domesday Book. The historic town of Battle and its extensive selection of independent cafes, shops and restaurants is just five miles away.

A garden path brings you to the front door of the property, which opens into a welcoming entrance hall. To the right is the lounge, which features wooden floors, cosy rugs, comfortable sofas, a large coffee table, exposed beams and a striking inglenook fireplace with open fire. There is also a useful snug with a TV and DVD player, offering an alternative space in which to relax. Step through to the dining room, which has French windows that open out to the garden and has been decorated in a contemporary style with wooden flooring, and a chandelier. The kitchen has been tastefully designed to suit any cook, with its spacious units, timber worktops, butler’s sink, and a large range style oven and hob. With underfloor heating it is a very pleasant space to prepare meals and has been fitted with a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine and breakfast bar. From the kitchen, guests can take their morning coffee out to the paved area where there is a table and chairs. On the first floor there are two bedrooms with double beds, each decorated in neutral tones to create a feeling of relaxation. The bunk bedroom is ideal for children, with bunk beds and an additional single bed. All the bedrooms share the bathroom which has separate shower cubicle with power shower, bath, basin and WC.

Outside there is a patio area with table, chairs and a BBQ for summer evenings, while at the bottom of the lawn, there is a wooden summer house which makes a relaxing spot for a morning cup of coffee whilst enjoying the beautifully planted cottage garden.

The cottage is beautiful. Super comfortable and homely, with plenty of space for two small families. All bedrooms were a great size and thr kitchen well equiped to cook from home, although the local indian was lovely to eat out at. The snug room was a bonus with the kids and offered lots of games to try out. The owners were super helpful throughoutRead more our stay and departure. The neighbours were also kind and provided some great local recommendations to try. I'd love to go back in the summer. Hide

Very cosy and spacious cottage in a cute little lane in Robertsbridge. The rooms were really comfortable and the kitchen was so well equipped. The garden was peaceful and a great sun trap into the evening. Parking was tricky but the main road always had spaces. Highly recommend the local Indian restaurant in the high street!

We had an amazing Christmas at Cricket Cottage. The house was beautifully kept, very clean, child friendly and had everything we could have ever needed! The welcome hamper and logs were such a nice touch. We could not fault this cottage at all.

Lovely stay in this cosy, well equipped cottage, especially welcome during some very wet Nov days.. Very convenient for the village pub, bakery and Indian restaurant - all within walking distance. Good location for exploring the East Sussex towns. Very helpful owner. As noted in other comments, the cottage is on a narrow road and parking outside thRead moree house is not always possible. Therefore luggage had to be wheeled down the road - a minor issue for us but a note in the details might be helpful. Hide

Cottage was very well placed in a lovely historic village. Very handy for food shopping and The New Spice Indian was excellent. Cottage is in a very narrow lane and parking can be difficult.
