Located in Rye Harbour, this beautifully decorated old fisherman’s cottage exudes charm and style with its combination of original and contemporary features throughout.

Located on a quiet road only a minute’s walk from Rye Harbour, this holiday cottage is conveniently located for families looking for an old-fashioned seaside break. Head to the harbour to watch the boats come and go or enjoy a delicious meal in the local gastro pub. Or walk a further minute to reach the RSPB nature reserve where wonderful walks can be enjoyed and you can walk along to the local shingle beach.

The front door of this cottage opens into the family lounge, which is bursting with country charm. Comfortable sofas sit at either side of the room with a quirky storage trunk coffee table in the centre, while a woodburner sits in an original fireplace and large sash windows line the walls. Step through the hallway with plenty of space for walking boots, past a downstairs shower room with large walk in shower, WC, basin and large mirror, to reach the open-plan kitchen/diner. This magnificent space is made all the more spacious by bi-folding doors that open onto the patio, extending the dining space and welcoming the outside in. This farmhouse style room features a dining table and chairs, an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and cafetiere. Upstairs the first bedroom features a king-size and an additional trundle bed for a small child if needed. The second bedroom has a double and is light and airy.

The bi-folding doors connect the spacious kitchen with an enclosed decked garden. Here you’ll find a charcoal BBQ and outside seating for al fresco meals, while a timber clad building at the far end of the deck houses a table football table, darts board and selection of children’s beach games. There is an additional enclosed garden at the front of the house with a bistro table and chairs for enjoying morning coffees or evening drinks.

This is a beautiful cosy and comfortable cottage. The location is wonderful and perfect for any time of year. We loved the sitting room, especially the log burner for the long autumn evenings. We slept so well because of the peaceful surroundings and the amazingly comfy beds! Very restful and relaxing.
