Located in 1066 country, surrounded by 200 acres of farmland and orchards, this holiday let has an abundance of country walks on its doorstep. The Sussex countryside is dotted with charming villages and towns offering independent shopping facilities and traditional English pubs. The carriage looks out to National Trust’s Bodiam Castle, which is a fascinating site to explore. 5 minutes stroll within the grounds of Quarry Farm, there is also a café and farm shop, "The Hub" offering Wi-Fi, water sports, a beauty salon and many other facilities.
Inside, mahogany woodwork and crystal ornate mirrors are featured throughout this 1894 carriage. Originally a fairground owner’s home, which toured the West Country, the current owners have lovingly restored the carriage to create cosy accommodation for two. To one end of the carriage is the bedroom, with a fixed raised small-double bed dressed in Irish linen and painted woodwork all around, and a small hand basin. To the other end is a cosy lounge area with a vintage tiled fireplace and woodburner effect fire, gas heater and a TV with DVD and CD player. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are located in two separate adjacent buildings leading off the outside veranda, so you will not have to walk far to prepare meals. In the kitchen you will find a sink, small oven and hob, fridge and railway carriage style small table with seating for two, overlooking the fields beyond. The contemporary wet room has a shower and WC.
Outside the main carriage there is a raised decked area with an overhead enclosed veranda. This is a peaceful spot in which to relax with a glass of wine overlooking Bodiam Castle and the apple orchards.
There are four other similar properties on the same site, The Sir Paul Gooderham, Goldings Lodge, The Lady Stella and Lady Jane.
