This stunning shepherd’s hut has been beautifully designed inside and out to provide a cosy hideaway in a tranquil rural setting. Sleeping just two, this is the perfect retreat for couples looking for a romantic getaway. Short breaks from £275.

Situated in a peaceful location in Kent’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this enchanting shepherds hut offers a rural escape from everyday life. When not exploring the many footpaths that forge the rolling countryside, guests can head into nearby Benenden to pick up fresh produce from the local butchers and shops, or enjoy a delicious meal at the village pub. With two vineyards nearby and the Kent and East Sussex coast not far away, there is plenty to do and see in this spectacular pocket of the South East.

Inside, the hut has been decorated to evoke a calming and spacious feel. There is a small kitchen area with a hob, microwave, mini fridge and coffee machine, perfect for starting the day with a bacon sandwich from the local butcher. Guests are also provided with a standard welcome pack, that contains milk, bread, butter, jam or honey and a small bottle of wine or apple juice, with the option of purchasing a ‘special basket’ by prior arrangement to include more produce. There is also a butler’s sink with plate rack above, and a wrought iron table and chairs for dining inside at night. The double bed sits at one end of the hut beneath a pretty window bordered by wooden shutters with decorative cut-out hearts. Beneath the bed there is plenty of storage for your stay, together with a hairdryer and wooden hangers. The en-suite shower room with shower and WC with sandstone tiling, a power shower, toiletries and even slippers.

Outside the hut is a peaceful garden area with a table and chairs for enjoying al fresco meals using the charcoal BBQ. As you dine, you will notice the grazing sheep and llamas in the paddocks beyond - a truly unique and memorable experience.

The owners Martine and Tom were at the gate to greet us on our arrival. The property was spotless. All you need is at the property and we were well looked after, as a hamper was left with freshly baked bread, butter , home made jam and cookies, there was also milk provided in the fridge. The bed was very comfortable and the owners had put sun loungRead moreers and chairs and table out ready for us ideal for the hot weekend we had. We felt the property was good value for money. We spent 2 nights in the Shepherds Hut, which was perfectly lovely. It was a Xmas present for my husband, which he really loved. We were very lucky with the weather, however.as sunshine all the time we were there. It was 30th April - 2nd May, and with 2 week old lambs, sheep and a Llama to look out on, in beautiful surroundings, no complaints.

This was the perfect country hideaway with all that we needed for a weekend stay. The llamas and lambs were an added extra. The bed was super comfortable and the aroma of nespresso coffee made the morning.
