Set within Bucklers Hard on the banks of the River Beaulieu, this property is one of two charming Georgian houses in this location, surrounded by the beauty of the New Forest.

Bucklers Hard, with its shipbuilding heritage is part of the Montagu Estate and sits on the banks of the River Beaulieu. It’s surrounded by the New Forest, making it perfect for exploring the outdoors. The nearest town is Beaulieu which is home to a Cistercian Abbey as well as the National Motor Museum. Lymington and Lyndhurst are also within easy reach, while the North Solent National Nature Reserve, with its variety of wildlife, is just over three miles away. Other attractions nearby include Marwell Zoo and Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway.

On the ground floor there is a lounge, dining room, kitchen, utility room and a bathroom. The lounge, with its wood burner (logs included), is warm and welcoming. Looking out onto the river, the lounge also features a Smart TV, DVD and Sky TV channels. The dining room also has a wood burner, so guests can relax after an evening meal. In the well-equipped kitchen is an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. A washing machine can also be found in the small utility cupboard. The ground floor bathroom has a shower over bath and a WC. On the first floor are two bedrooms, as well as a wet room. The bedrooms consist of one king-size boasting river views, and one double, with two additional bunk beds (suitable for children up to 10 years old). A shower and WC can be found in the wet room. Additional accommodation is also provided in the separate annexe, located in the garden. This offers a double bedroom, a sink and views out onto the river. A sofa bed is also available on request, sleeping one adult or two children.

Outside of the property, the enclosed garden is a spacious lawn area, with garden furniture and a BBQ perfect for enjoying those sunnier days. Parking is available off-site in the nearby car park, subject to availability, though guests are free to unload outside the property.

The most wonderful idyllic location, so peaceful and beautiful. Feels like you are in the Mediterranean! The location of this cottage is truly stunning. However it is in need of some TLC. It is managed by the nearby Master Builders Hotel and this is reflected in the furniture and general decor which seems too corporate for a country cottage Sadly it has air of neglect about it and is possibly has the most badly equipped kitchen of any cottage I have eRead morever rented. The Harbourmasters is in a great location and convenient for the hotel. Its charming outside, but a little down-at-heel inside. It relies too much on where it is, rather than how it is.

This is a great location for staying with children and dogs. The cottage is clean and the linen and towels are excellent. Having the hotel right next door was great for the pub and restaurant.

I have always wanted to stay at Bucklers Hard as visited many times so staying in the Harbourmasters was amazing especially as it was for my 60 th Birthday!!! It did not let me down at all in fact it exceeded my expectations in so many ways. It was perfect and peaceful !! We stayed in the Harbourmasters Cottage over New Year 2021-2. The check in process was very smooth we were greeted in a very welcoming way. The cottage itself is cosy and warm, with a comfortable sitting room and dining room. The kitchen is compact but has everything you need. Lovely cottage that was perfect for what we wanted at Christmas. Mostly everything provided in the kitchen except for a dish cloth that would have been useful as not everything can go in the dishwasher. The hotel did provide one on request though. Lovely walk into Beaulieu but other walks had to be started by car. The only downside to the cottage iRead mores a lack of recycling facilities which is really disappointing. The hotel was totally closed for 4 days out of the 6 of our stay - taken over for weddings. No access for breakfast, lunchtime pint or dinner. The impression given that as self catering, we were of no importance. Previous year, log store full for 2 log burners , empty and told to purchase our own. The cottage location was perfect for our family to attend a wedding in Beaulieu. Plenty of space and well equipped and comfortable. The view from the garden was wonderful and the staff at the hotel very helpful we we wanted to invite other family members to the cottage. We look forward to staying again another time

Stunning situation. Beautiful lounge overlooking the river. However the main bedroom is challenging in that there is an enormous bed, leaving about six inches either side, meaning you have to walk sideways to get in, which could prove difficult for people with mobility problems, as could the stairs, which wind round, with no hand rail. Very enjoyable stay in a great location with 5 adults, a baby and dog utilizing the annexe. A few minor gripes, such as lack of comfortable outside chairs or umbrella (there was a base!) and nowhere to hygienically store rubbish bags. Potential renters should be aware this is an old cottage with awkward stairs, sloping floors and the highest bath wRead moree've ever seen (hazardous getting in for a shower). Really wonderful location and this means you are paying luxury price for what is a pretty basic cottage that is long overdue some tlc. The annex is good in the summer but is essentially the garage. The most beautiful views! Cosy but very well equipped. Very comfy beds and great pillows too!! Luxurious linens and a very well equipped kitchen. Gorgeous lawned garden and lovely patio area for dining looking out over the river.
