The nearby town of Northallerton has plenty of independent shops, restaurants and tea rooms to explore alongside the twice weekly market. The North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park both offer superb days out, with their unique landscapes of dramatic open rolling heather moorland and famous Yorkshire dales. In both regions there are superb walking and cycling routes with excellent walks close by including access to the Cleveland Way, Coast to Coast Path and the Lyke Wake Walk. The cottage was perfect! It was a home from home feel. The bedding was beautiful and the toiletries luxurious. The hamper in the kitchen was lovely, fresh milk in the fridge is always great for a cup of tea once you've finished unpacking. WiFi was a strong connection. Garden large enough for children or dogs. We had a lovely stay. The welcome selection tray was lovely and the smell of fresh bread was very homely. The village is lovely with a fabulous friendly pub 2 mins away. Great cottage that suited our holiday perfectly. Garden was a mixture of lawn and patio/driveway which allowed our cars to be parked off road and behind a secure gate within a fully enclosed and safe space. This was as well as a driveway and walled front garden. The house had flagstone ground floors with carpet upstairs and plenty of space and all Read moremod cons for convenience. Had a lovely few days at Hawthorne Cottage, location was fab, welcome pack was much appreciated, especially the prosecco, yum! Our little dog loved it as well!

Lovely cottage in a great central location. Local pub was a welcome treat as the food is great and they are dog friendly. All the villagers were friendly too. Definitely recommend this cottage.
