This charming cottage is located on a 200-acre working dairy farm, set within peaceful countryside surroundings, and is ideally located for enjoying a relaxing rural holiday in North Devon.
Although surrounded by countryside, you’ll only be 15 minutes away from the coast. The sandy beaches and surfing waves of Westward Ho! Woolacombe and Saunton are all within easy reach by car. Located three miles from the Atlantic Highway, you will also have easy access to a whole range of popular attractions including the Big Sheep, the Milky Way and Dartington Crystal. In nearby Bideford and Torrington you’ll find their famous Pannier Markets and good pubs, shops and restaurants. If you feel like exploring on two wheels, you can hire bikes and cycle traffic free on the disused railway track, the Tarka Trail, stopping on the way at one of the many cafes or pubs.
This renovated, semi-detached cottage is full of character with exposed woodwork. On the ground floor, you’ll find a well-equipped kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. The spacious lounger/diner offers a TV/DVD, hi-fi and wood burner – the owners provide the first basked of logs for you. There is also a separate WC and underfloor heating to keep you warm and cosy. The two bedrooms can be found upstairs and both enjoy far-reaching countryside views. They consist of a king-size room with TV, en-suite shower and WC, and a twin room with zip-and-link twin beds, which can be made up as a double upon request. A bathroom with shower over bath and WC is located opposite the twin room.
Outside, the lounge/diner opens onto a south-west facing, private enclosed patio with garden furniture, BBQ and wonderful views of the valley. By prior arrangement, guests are welcome to explore the farm, enjoy a guided tour from the farmer, help feed the calves and watch the cows being milked. There is ample off-road parking.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
