Traditional two bedroom mid terrace cottage with split level garden. The property benefits from an open fire for cosy winter nights and home, and a pub within easy reach. Miles of dog walking along the nearby canal.

The cottage is located in the charming village of Buxworth and is just a stones throw from the beautifully restored Bugworth Basin next to the canal in the High Peak. When the canal was first built, it became the biggest inland port in the country, being able to moor over 100 boats. The nature and tranquillity surrounds you when meandering down the canal. Why not take a trip and explore the four show caves at Castleton, Peak Cavern, Speedwell Cavern, Treak Cliff Cavern and Blue John Mine. The stunning Chatsworth House, gardens and farm shop are a short drive away. The popular towns of Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock and Ashbourne offer an array of shops, cafes and pubs to enjoy.

Entering the mid terrace cottage from the front of a pretty tree lined street you step into the lounge which offers a comfortable sofa and two chairs where you can relax and unwind in front of the traditional open fire which is the focal point of the room. You will find a TV/DVD, good selection of books, board games and DVDs, if the weather isn’t on your side. Walking through to the well-equipped kitchen which offers everything you may need for your stay including electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. The central dining table seats two but an extra table can be added to provide snug dining for four. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms, one double and one king-size, and a shower room with shower and WC.

Stepping out from the kitchen you reach a small yard area. Following the steep concrete steps leads you to the peaceful enclosed elevated garden with patio, stone gravelled area and outdoor seating for enjoying those summer evenings. Parking is roadside parking to the front of the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Very enjoyable holiday. Close to the Navigation Inn. It is situated on busy main road so be very careful if you are taking any pets. The cottage is very well equiped.

A comfortable, well equipped cottage in a convenient location. Good heating system and shower with instant hot water. Easy walk to supermarket and to the canal basin and pub with food. Would stay there again.

Good communication links with owner, ideal location for walking. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with comfortable beds and a lovely welcome gift for humans and dogs which was a nice touch. Would definitely book again.

Good cottage, nice facilities though a bit dated. Front bedroom noisy due to road. Both hot as windows too heavy to open. Lovely little selection of goodies left for us. Handy for the dog as right by the canal. Very little in the village but good spot as vase for walkers.
