This cottage has been beautifully converted from a 17th-century barn to a detached single story holiday destination, on a 600-acre estate.

This property lies in the village of Knightcote, in the heart of Shakespeare Country, within 600 acres of Warwickshire countryside, where you can enjoy nature walks to the nearby Burton Dasset Hills to experience spectacular views. Take a look at the vintage tractor collections with a fun play area for children. Just 15 minutes down the road you’ll find the riverside town of Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick offering an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, theatres and gorgeous Warwick Castle. This great central location is perfect for exploring Oxford, the Cotswolds and Banbury with its Famous Cross and links to London by train. Large cities like Coventry and Birmingham are within easy driving distance too.

Arriving at this warm and inviting property you will find a utility room for laundry and muddy coats and wellies, which may come in very handy after a long stroll in the country. The spacious open-plan lounge/dining room is close by with fabulous handcrafted oak kitchen, where you can fling open the south facing French doors to let the sun fill the space. Snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of wine and enjoy views over the Burton Dasset Hills to the right and cornfield farmland to the right. If staying in for the evening to cook a meal, there is a well-equipped kitchen including electric oven with gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher to make light work of doing the dishes. The dining area a solid oak farmhouse table with chairs for six. Leading from the kitchen/dining room, you will find an attractive hallway entertaining a double bedroom with antique furnishings and en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower, washbasin and WC. You then come to a second twin bedroom with chunky pine furnishings and shower room with shower, wash basin and WC.

Heading outside, from the kitchen/dining area you will find a very enclosed courtyard cottage garden with gas barbeque and furniture, for guests to sit out and enjoy the sunshine while taking in the simply stunning views and wildfire surrounding the property.

We enjoyed our stay at Chestnut Cottage. It was helpful being all on one level for our elderly relative. The owner was very friendly and helpful. She clearly knew the area well.
