Located on a farm in the grounds of the 12th century Clattercote Priory, surrounded by horse paddocks, it’s the very definition of rural idyll. The village of Clattercote is close by, which is at the centre of the historic-cultural triangle of Oxford, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon (all within a 30-minute drive). For local shops and entertainment, Banbury is about six miles away too, and features an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as Spiceball Country Park and a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool. Other top visitor attractions in the area include Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle, Sulgrave Manor, Heritage Motor Museum and more.
On arrival at the properties you will notice that both accommodations have similar open-plan layouts. The lounge areas have ample comfortable seating, each with a TV. In the first cottage, you will see that the original fireplace and huge chimney breast have been retained as well as the old bread oven. The kitchen areas are well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher, a washer/ dryer, and a microwave. Also on the ground floor of the first cottage there are two double bedrooms, and in the second just one double. In both cottages, there is a bathroom on the ground floor that contains a shower over bath and WC. Upstairs there is a double bed on the mezzanine overlooking the living area below too, please note the stairs are steep. There is also a fold up bed available for an eleventh visitor (please book ahead). There is no internal connection between the cottages.
Outside, there is a terrace and the large garden accessed from the house via French doors – ideal for the kids and dogs (please note, there are some friendly resident dogs). The garden area is enclosed from the farm but not from each cottage so this arrangement works well when the two cottages are booked together for a family gathering. Garden furniture and BBQs are provided too for evening cookouts, and guests are welcome to wander through the grounds – the owners ask that you take note that there is a pond near to the main house.
